Depressing situation happening in my Spain game.

So I've just finished up conquering and coring all of Malacca. In the last peace deal I took what was left of Indonesia, and some islands in the pacific that they had colonized (Samoa and Tuamotu). Since I had not actually occupied those islands during the war, they apparently had armies there, and separatists immediately spawned. Fair enough.

Long story short: I didn't bother to kill the separatists, and the rebels enforced their demands. It said that "Malacca will become an independent nation", and I thought "fine, I don't need those islands anyway". But then I realized that they got all of their land back! The whole of Indonesia. Most of the provinces I had taken 50-100 years earlier.

Now I realize that I screwed up big time, but this just seems so freaking unfair and broken. "I don't care that you have a 40 k stack deployed in Melaka, the 2000 brave soldiers on Tuamoto Islands will win this independence war!". **** me for being stupid and the game mechanics.

EDIT: Even weirder, just realized I somehow control Samoa and Tuamotu, while Malacca got their nation back. How does this make sense?

EDIT 2: Thought I could do a reconquest war, but no. I've lost all my cores. This is f'ed up

Yes, it is incredibly stupid, but that's basically game mechanics. 2k portuguese in some random ass pacific island can liberate the entire homeland on Iberia, and makes island separatists some of the most dangerous things in the game.

They really need to fix this. The reason I didn't kill the Malaccan separatists was because I had a similar situation where I forgot some Scottish separatists, and they only took the provinces they had occupied, which was in California/Alaska.

If you check the rebels section of the stability, wwar exhaustion, etc. screen it tells you what provinces will defect to separatist movements. Mousing over the rebel type in the outliner will as well.

Did they change how colonization range works? Or the distances? I'm playing Portugal and England just started colonizing the north coast of South America in 1497. Their diplo tech is 7 for a colonization range of 275 with +50% from ideas for 412. I didn't think that was quite enough range to hit South America from SW England (closest port).

A report after the action. Exactly what it sounds like. In terms of the games, it's someone writing about their game (often with a bit of story thrown in) after they've played.

And can you also report on your current game, not "after" the action, but just from time to time while the game is not finished?
Its not just a roleplaying-thing, but can also be just to show the development of your game and to get feedback, or not?

That is after the action, you played through a certain amount of time then posted about it.

Well you should read a few to get a better idea but they go from full stories to gameplay only and everything in-between so it is up to you how yours is going to be.

all of the above. there are even interactive AAR, where the writer adapts what happens in the campaign to the choices the READER-voters make.

there is an entire AAR section on this forum. if you want to get idea, follow the links in my signature. I wrote some nice AAR :)

How long would it take to integrate Spain after an PU? I've had my dynasty on the Spanish throne for nearly 200 years, but didn't have the opportunity to actually claim it. I'm nearing the 1700's and am wondering if I can ever get it or that it would be too late. So I'm actually looking for the latest date on which to PU Spain so they can be integrated. It's a pretty normal Spain, with the Iberian and Italian lands, with a foothold in Morocco and a couple of very large colonies. Integrated a large Russia once, but that took nearly 100 years so with the 50 year waiting time it might already be too late.
Also I wondered if it is WAD when you have a queen recency for a young heir with a weak claim, that I can't claim the throne cause 'not same dynasty' while the heir is of my dynasty but the queen regent is not.

The answer to your first question is very much "it depends". You can calculate how quickly you would be able to integrate them based on their current development and your dip rep, tech levels and ideas. If you are prepared to sit around on speed 5 (because any occupations anywhere in their land will stall integration so going to war is risky) then, if you have influence and diplomatic fleshed out and if you also have admin ideas so you can take the policy, you should be able to do it even if you only have sixty years or so to integrate them after the 50 year cooling off period expires.

As for your second question, if you could have claimed the throne without them having a Queen Regent but cannot do so now that they have a Queen Regent then I would say that that does sound like a bug. Probably worth reporting in the bug forum with a save game.

If I pay 100 diplo-points to accept a culture and later I form a new nation that automatically accepts those cultures -
-will I get the diplo-points back?
-and will I get the slot for another promoted culture back?

Also,
-If I have territorial cores on all provinces I need to form a specific nation, when I take the decision to form it, will all the territorial cores made into states without me paying admin-points?
