Not getting the One Family to Rule Them All achievement. It's not the dynasty I started the game with. When I hover over my King it shows 7 other nations with the same dynasty. One is my March and another is a Vassal.

Well it sounds like you've earned it, has the monthly tick passed yet?

And if that doesn't work just load up as Ming, release enough vassals and place a relative on their thrones and GG the achievement is yours.

What does the in-game achievement browser show in the tooltip as the conditions that you still need to satisfy?

It sounds like, for whatever reason, it isn't counting them all. Are they all independent nations and all monarchies?

Yes. This is the von Hohenzollern dynasty. I'm playing as Kaffa and I got it from Brandenburg or Commonwealth and spread it to a few nations in Africa. I checked all the governments and they are all monarchies. Maybe there's a hidden requirement that your capital needs to be in Europe.

Are any of them currently in a regency, perhaps with a consort regency? That might count as a different dynasty so you might just need to wait for the regency to end.

I am nation A.
Nation B and C are in war against each other.
I still can ally with nation B.

When I make an alliance with nation B now, will I join the war between B and C ?

The short answer is "it depends".

Was B the aggressor or the defender? What is the war score between them? How long ago did the war start?

If B was the defender, the war started less than two and a half years ago and the war score for B is no worse than -24 then you would receive a defensive call to arms as soon as you sign the alliance (unless you are ineligible for other reasons such as being at war with C in another war already).

If B was the attacker then it is less likely that you would be called in although they might do so for a promise of land if you want some of C's land.

That I need 8 nations with my dynasty. The dynasty name is green check-marked. I now have 8 non-subjects with my dynasty and still no achievement.

is there consort regency in any of them? might have to wait for it to end, as 'leading dynasty' in nations are the consort one durig consort-regency.

For the new DLC:

How much splendor will the abilities in each age cost?

How much splendor will a Golden Age cost?

Is it +3PP and +3 Splendor per month for completing all objectives or +3 per objective completed?

If you have leftover splendor from one age, do you retain it when entering the next age or does it reset to 0?

I don't think they've spelt this out in any of the Dev Diaries and, anyway, such things are subject to change right up until release as they balance new features. My advice to you is to just wait until the DLC is released and then ask again if you want to know before you buy it.

For a world conquest, which of these would be better: Catholic Ottomans into HRE or Orthodox Ottomans into Byzantium via Romania? I know Coptic is all the rage but I'd rather not go that way.

How does the achievement "Spain is the emperor" work?

What strategy would I have to use to achieve it? I am not very into HRE and HRE-mechanics, but how to become emperor, when you are not even member of HRE?

Also, can Spain do world-conquest and would becoming emperor help for this a lot?

I'd say there is a slow way and a fast way. The slow way is just boost dip rep with ideas and missions over time and keep relations high as possible with electors - probably ally a couple too. I was able to achieve it this way but it took time, though sometimes you can get lucky depending on what happens to Austria. Faster way is vassal some electors early on while messing up Austria.

As for WC, absolutely. If you can get Emperor title early enough and start passing reforms until you Revoke, then you basically have a large portion of Europe as vassals..or pass the last and form HRE. Either way, you are unstoppable. I'd probably stick with the HRE vassals for most or all of the game as you have more forces fighting that way. Doing this as Austria is probably significantly easier, but I'm sure it would work for Spain if you know what you are doing

So they dont have to vote for somebody who is part of the HRE?

No. Just note that religion will likely factor in. You will be Catholic, so that is fine until Reformation hits, but things get dicier after that when some electors go Protestant or Reformed. If there your vassal though, it should not be a problem. You can also try for PUs, like with Bohemia.

(note in real history, Spain was the emperor for some time - like Charles V, but never a part of HRE)

Oh, and with Revoke and HRE vassals, you can sit back and let them do most of the fighting for you..ha..though for speed issues you probably want more control of the fighting and sieging.
