Quick question just to confirm, I'm a sunni nation and want to convert to protestant, can I do this via rebels and letting them force demands?

As long as a religion that can become protestant is the plurality religion of your nation. Otherwise the rebels won't convert your national religion, just the province(s) they occupy.

On the Netherlands, the biggest issue I see is that they generally come into being by attacking the emperor during the league war era and that causes them to attack the entire catholic league plus any imperial allies that happen to not be a member of the league. This generally causes any backers they may have had to say no thanks and a quick beatdown follows.

So as some of my provinces already have protestant, my nation can become protestant?

Noobish question, but I cannot recall and don't wanna get junior PU'd.

Got a bunch of royal marriages with various countries. Had a consort ruling my country whilst my heir was growing up. Heir has now ascended the throne but has no consort, and ergo no heir. Now my dip relations are maxed out, and I've got several royal marriages. My question is, will a consort be generated from one of the existing royal marriages, or should I seek a new royal marriage but then extending my dip relations?

A consort will b generated from one of your provinces if an heir is born in that situation. Alternatively, you can try adding rms but they won't guarantee a consort being generated although there is a decent chance. Not having a consort won't stop you from getting an heir.

Okay so I literally just watched the netherlands constantly threw 1k armies over and over into a 20k besieging a fort. So much so that they were losing -36 until they took the enemy's capital.

What logic is giving the AI this idea?

It's possible that the AI chooses a "rally point" of some sort for their new regiments, and the only path to that rally point was through a besieged fort.

This probably is a silly question, but I never played as a Horde before. Now it's 1477 and I just formed Qing. I have 35K Cavalry but since changing to Chinese Tech I guess I'm now at 50% Cavalry Ratio? This is so confusing since I'm still a Khaganate. Would be a shame to disband all my Cav.

Thanks in advance!

Correct.

This can be used to bankrupt the AI btw since these templates are oftentimes mercs.

When you interrupt them by occupying the rally point they keep creating mercs but don't move them ever as you can see in this screenshot.

Killed stacks with 2k-8k units for a few months.

It's a combination of two different mechanics and can be easily abused once you find out where their initial rally point is. All you need to do is snipe a sufficient amount of units before they reach it which throws them into a loop.

Create > Rally > Check for correct amount of soldiers > Too few > Create > Rally > ad infinitum

You also can't get PU'd if you're at war so if the situation ever looks truly dire for you just sit in some useless wars until you get an heir or your ruler dies.

You will indeed go down to 50% cav ratio and need to disband your cav and/or rebalance your armies. The decision to form Qing should change your government type to Despotic Monarchy too. Not sure how you're still a Khaganate...

Quick question just to confirm, I'm a sunni nation and want to convert to protestant, can I do this via rebels and letting them force demands?

basically you convert a province with the religion you want, aka protestant. It is ideal to send missionary when you just conquered the protestant province. I mean, same day peace deal goes into effect. Then zealots will overrule seperatists. do not pay for missionary. lower autonomy if needed.

let protestant zealots spawn. move your capital far away from them, to other side of nation. Delete all forts. let zealots occupy all, and when they are busy sieging your capital, do a mass desieging of the now protestant provinces in your nation.

Then kill the zealots when capital is down, and accept demands.

the moving capital isn't really needed, but it makes sure the rebels don't enforce demands after 2 years, leaving your nation below 50% protestant. Ideally you start a war when the rebels reach 50% development religion conversions. Fight the war, and let the rebels occupy EVERYTHING. Then resiege everything en masse when they are sieging your capital fortress. Do this to avoid the +25% autonomy on zealot occupied provinces, when accepting demands. Note that you can STAY sunni when 100% of your nation is protestant, and assign/revoke provinces to dhimmi estate to trigger protestant zealots agan. the idea is to revoke dhimmi estate when they are already below 40% loyalty. this will trigger another protestant zealot stack, and you can accept demands and flip protestant at YOUR moment. his can be handy if you are allied to let's say ottomans, and you want to wait until the right moment to flip.

Switching from sunni to protestant (aka swithing your gov religion between different religious groups) will ANNUL ALL YOUR ALLIANCES, so when you accept zealot demands, make SURE uou got all your diplomats free to re-ally them the same month. if you don't do this, they will usually go neutral/hostile next month.

Done the above countless of times, it has no downsides other then rebels tanking your income for 5-10 years. I just did it as Andalusia offline, and will continue my campaign on twitch today as catholic andalusia with 100% religious unity :)

one note: rebels will teleport across sea zones to reach other unconverted parts of your nation. if the sea zone they are in is blockaded, they won't teleport. For example, portugal will block sea zone if zealots are near gibraltar. you can solve this by sending 1k to a sea zone province that is NOT sea blockaded, like Granada. The rebels wilmove in to KILL your 1k as soon as it lands from boats, and THEN they will teleport because they are now in sea zone that isn't blockaded. of course, move your boats OUT when 1k landed.

hope this helps.

I've got an explorer that increases Trade Efficiency but I'm not seeing any effect. Does he have to do something special or is this a bug? Maybe they meant that he increase Trade Power of his protecting ships?

Where does it say the Explorer increases trade efficiency? An Admiral or Explorer's maneuver will increase his fleet's ship trade power by 5% for each point.

My colonial nation's economy is in shambles. Despite that, they are still colonizing and paying for a ton of forts. Can I tell them to knock it off, or do I just have to subsidize them? Will they ever get back in the black? Is it better to subsidize them or pay their debts?
