How do you handle colonizers en colonies in a WC attempt? Still trying with the Ottomans. Last try I was able to pick of some lands in the new world and after that demand the whole region. However because of a lack of exploration I didn't have a sea route between both continents and the AI won't offer op colonies that have a fort nearby so I couldn't demand anything from Portugal regardless of me occupying their capital. Does this mean I have to take exploration? It feels a waste for anything other than explorer/ conquistador.
You need to full annex the colonizers, not vassalize them, there are wrird interactions regarding integrations and CNs. No need to prevent them from colonizing. How do you handle colonizers en colonies in a WC attempt? Still trying with the Ottomans. Defensive and offensive pips have nothing to do with being the attacker or the defender, this is a myth. They just have consequences with how much damage you inflict/take, they are modifiers to dice rolls. But you inflict and take damage whether you are the attacker or the defender so they are used in both cases. Is it wise to use defensive units like men at arms when sieging a fort and getting attacked (because then you're treated as the attacker OR ARE YOU)?![]()
Portugal gets the province of Goa in India via an event. It's not necessary to sell them a province.
Annexing them does not give you their PU - the subject state gains independence. Claiming the throne and enforcing the union, however, *will* give any of their PUs to you. Unless you're talking a vassalized nation with a PU diplo-annexed? I'm not sure on that one, tbh. I'm not sure if it's even possible in the first place, but I couldn't say.
It used to, many patches ago. @atwix confirmed more than a dozen pages back, when I had the same question, as I didn't realize it had been patched out. Now they do indeed go independent.Brandenburg has a PU over a large poland in my game so I was wondering if I could just annex them and get that, because I think that used to work?
Got any favors for them you can convert into trust? That would be simplest. Alternatively, since the economic base modifier is actually based off 120, -28 is a 92, and for 2 more you're going to need 2% more base tax and production than you currently have to pull it off.Own question:

Trying to figure out if there are any quick ways to boost my vassalization positives for this weakened Milan? I'm about to pounce on Savoy (who are allied to Venice) - getting them as a vassal before this war would be a major boon considering I could feed them a bunch of cores back.
Easiest way I can think of is boosting diplo rep, but I'm already running most of my boosts, and am not close enough to any ideas that would boost my diplo rep, either.
Diplomatic reputation: +1 from being France, +1 from max legitimacy, +1 from advisor, +1 from papal legate
Any other ideas?
Have them transfer trade to you. For whatever reason, it makes them have a bonus towards you.
