That looks like a feature of the Religious Leagues. If Austria is attacked as Emperor and Leader of the Catholic League then all League Members are called in as allies.

Bohemia is the Protestant leader though and not involved. It must have been a coalition. I don't see the coalition icon but that probably goes away when the war starts. However, if France is in the Protestant league and attacks the Catholic leader does that bring the whole league in? This has got to be the most one-sided war against France I've ever seen. :)

What's up with European disases event in 1.19? Wiki says it should fire after any European power set foot in the Americas, but it never fired. I am playing Cusco->Inca, it is around 1600.

Is it worth using "Influence Nation" on your own Colonial Nations? I'm not sure paying ~200 ducats/year is worth giving them an extra MP/month.

It also boosts their trust of you by 5 (and in the current version that no longer decays) which reduces their liberty desire. I probably wouldn't bother once they're at max trust though.

Creating spy networks in native american tribe nations that moves around causes the spy network to continue spying on the same nation as before but marked with a rebel map in the scroll-down menu (when they move). Can't stop spying on them since -apparently- I'm not spying on them..
Re-loading the game doesn't work. Creating a spy network and canceling it only cancels the most recently created network.
Suggesstions? I've used up my diplo-slots :s

Best way to cripple the Timmies? I saw a 28k stack of Persian seperatists, thought I had an opportunity and declared war, especially since they were low on manpower on, but they just bought a few doomstacks of mercenaries, more than me + allies could handle. I got off lucky in the sense they focused my ally Delhi instead of me, and once Delhi peaced out, my warscore was good enough to get a white peace - which I took, considering the odds stacked against me - but I do need a way to cut them down to size. Ottomans don't care enough about me to join in, if anyone advises that.

Am Baluchistan, trying to into Mughals, if that matters.

Regarding the Trust... it doesn't seem to stack. That is to say that Influence Nation only boosts Trust by 5, but if I renew it a year later, it stays at +5, and doesn't become +10. If this is the case I don't think it's worth it unless my colony has independence desire.

Like I said: Current version. You're on 1.18, aren't you? It was 1.19.2 that changed it so that subject's trust of you no longer falls to 50 over time.

Regarding manufactories institution, I had a look on the wiki but the wording is a little vague... Am I right to understand that there will be a global point of origin (like previous institutions) randomly in a province in the same Area (as in Areas map mode) as somebody's capital, which happens to have a Manufactory and 20 development? Beyond that the institution will develop in any province that has a manufactory at 1% per month, in addition to other bonuses like adjacency to provinces that already have it.

What I am getting at is that given the cost of Manufactories, I don't need to bother building them in all provinces in my Capital Area (for Ming, that's Hebei) and instead I should just build them wherever they are a profitable investment. Even if I don't win the lottery on spawning the global origin, all my manufactories will become centers of spread in ~8 years anyway. Also you don't get any bonuses for building manufactories after the institution is available, so there is no reason to not build them already if I can afford it.

Correct? :)

Ah thx guys! Yes that makes much better sense. I was thinking it's a bit absurd to force me to develop provinces in such a tiny area and build expensive manufactories in them regardless of profitability just to have a shot of spawning the institution. Well I guess given how big and rich I am as Ming, I should have a great chance of spawning it in China somewhere. I intend to build them in every province where I get my investment back in 70 years or less.

Best way to cripple the Timmies? I saw a 28k stack of Persian seperatists, thought I had an opportunity and declared war, especially since they were low on manpower on, but they just bought a few doomstacks of mercenaries, more than me + allies could handle. I got off lucky in the sense they focused my ally Delhi instead of me, and once Delhi peaced out, my warscore was good enough to get a white peace - which I took, considering the odds stacked against me - but I do need a way to cut them down to size. Ottomans don't care enough about me to join in, if anyone advises that.

Well, situation sorted itself out - Timmies bankrupted themselves three times, and let me nom through most of southern Persia and Afghanistan.

New problem - everyone in India hates me. And it's not like... aggressive expansion or anything. Just, every major power that has risen in India has decided I'd make a perfect rival. And they're mostly allied to each other and stronger than me, including a triple my force limit Bahmanis and double my force limit Bengal. And I don't have like, an Ottomans alliance to ward them off - they really don't have any interest in me, with Timmie down to a few provinces tucked way away in the Steppes and their rivals being mostly European nations. Ming is still alive and intact, and even rivaling them, but despite that, I don't seem to intrigue them, either.

EDIT: Yeah, I think this run might need to just be a learning experience, given how things have fallen apart. You live and learn, I guess. Still, any tips on 'how to become Mughals without just using the Timurids' would be cool to have for next time!

The Colonial Region of Mexico is huge! It covers most of the Mexico Trade Node and the Rio Grande Trade Node, so ideally I'd like to have one Colonial Nation in each trade node with 10+ provinces so I can get 2 Merchants out of them to steer trade in the area... however it looks like anything I colonize or take in the Rio Grande region automatically goes to Ming Mexico as well because it's still in the same Colonial Region... is there any way I can intentionally split a large colonial nation into two smaller ones?

It costs adm to raise the tax, dip to raise the production, and mil to raise the base manpower. There's one button for each, near the top of the province view window.
And this is only possible if you have the Common Sense DLC.
