We've got them and they take something of an Ottoman influence.
Yep. Well, not that anyone cares ofc, but although the models themselves are very fine, I've always been a tad puzzled about their choice to make them look so oriental-esque, y'know, the zouave-like 3rd one, and the latest one with a turban. If Byzantium actually managed to make it that far in history, I reckon it'd model its forces after western armies, if anything.
I remember there being a bit of a fuss over them. 'Them' being the latter two models. I might remember because I was one of fussers.
Anyone else think the earliest Aztec model looks like he's wearing pajamas?
Well, it makes some sense, if you ask me. The first models are used at a point where Byzantium is a shadow of its former self, a glorified city-state holding on to some territories in the south. The Turkish-looking models could probably represent the re-integration of former Ottoman territory (Anatolia etc.) having a distinct effect on Byzantium's culture and military traditions. That always got me. Their first unit models look really good, what one would expect out of the Empire in it's waning days. The second unit models are good too, looking almost like a Greek-Italian fusion with a bit of Eastern elements thrown in, but I would still expect to see some mail or metal on them at this point. The third and fourth ones look extremely Turkish, though, and look almost like irregulars in the Ottoman Army, which is kind of disheartening. Still, they all look nice which is a plus.
Particulary love the Mapuches units! Did they share the skins with other nations? Wich ones?
These are awesome. But... please add more unit graphical options for the ND. Or are you going to leave this one to the mods?
Do we get to keep them if we convert to Catholic?
