( i have no problem with state corruption - it just needs to be rebalanced and it should always be possible to reduce it - right now as a big big nation its impossible by the game to reduce it at some point)

Very good DD, thanks Groogy

What would you want the Revolutionary Zeal effects to be? What would be the driving factor of the people’s fervor to push on the revolution?
Perhaps a tolerance bonus? the Revolution enable jews and protestant to practise openly their religious faith.
(and please remove "Liberté Egalité Fraternité" from french ideas, it should be tied to the Revolution in a way or another)

If say the ENTIRE Holy roman empire falls tp the Peasent Revolt earlier, how would the revolution be represented then?

Or alternatively, a big ole Dithmarschen reaching great power status or kingdom or empire rank or whatever?
I think I added in last patch a unique revolutionary name for peasant republics

Would you also be willing to have a look at the Merchant Republic territory cap?
It's also something we're looking at

Overall, I'm ecstatic that you're giving the Revolution the attention it deserves. Three cheers for the devs!

I'm also happy to see you're addressing the community's Big Three issues. I loved the idea of the corruption, just hated the execution. If you could find some way to increase autonomy or unrest proportional to a province's distance to the capital (with some ways to negate the penalty, of course-- a disaster you can go through that rewards successful navigation, maybe, or government reforms or ideas), I think that'd be the best way to model the difficulties of administering a vast empire.

Is it really necessary for revolutionary flags to be always tricolours?
Can't they be based in actually historical revolutionary attempts or organizations (example: The Carbonari)?

Or at least let us customise it so we can at least roleplay a bit with our revolution.

@Groogy Would it be possible to hear more about the rewards if Burgundy wins the war against Austria and France?

I appreciate the goal of a better representation of history. My reading of this makes me concerned this won't really be fun for the Burgundy player.

We're going from player Burgundy never worrying about the inheritance to ---> get PU'd ---> get annex'd ---> or fight France + Emperor (likely Austria). Maybe I'm not reading the choices correctly, but looks like a lot of work! Other than avoiding the event in the first place, this is really only one option for most players (fighting the great war).

This could be fun if the rewards are worth it?

The dev diary is great though, well done! Thank you :).
I'd rather keep the exact rewards a secret for now, but there will be an escape from the personal union available to players.

An AI Burgundy will always accept annexation so you will get the beautiful Burgundian bordergore we're all used to, but a player Burgundy will have the option to support a distant cousin of Marie and regain their independence ;)

Yah, but in practice what does it actually mean? Is it ticking or instant? Are there any internal factors, e.g. local autonomy, or do I have to keep declaring wars on my neighbours? Can I involve my subjects in some way? etc

I guess I'm trying to ask how fluid zeal is once you actually start playing - compared to say absolutism which typically always sits at max.
As an example, not furthering the ideals of the revolution and just sitting and enjoying your bonuses will have you get a -4 Yearly Zeal penalty. You gotta fight dem revolutionaries.

Players are never ever given a suicide option. Well right now the events do but I've bugged it to @Meka66 to fix of course. So you can always fall under a PU but have ample opportunity to get out of it. I don't know what rewards Meka have added but I did just sneak in an extra bonus for if Mary manages to defeat both France and Austria but remain alive on the throne.

If they'd rather be dead in a ditch than to be in the Austrian Union, you know you can expect them out on the 31st of October. Maybe :p

No, you would have a huge advantage in zeal making it impossible for France to take it. If you however do sit around doing nothing for a while it might become possible for someone you previously defeated to take over the torch from you.

Exciting stuff, specially like the versatility of government reforms revolutionary republics have at their disposal. Does bring in to question whether some of the later monarchy reforms and especially theocracy reforms will be looked at, as some of them don't seem to ever have a situation in where they're worth taking.

No, you would have a huge advantage in zeal making it impossible for France to take it. If you however do sit around doing nothing for a while it might become possible for someone you previously defeated to take over the torch from you.
Good to know, thanks!
