AFAIK the soundtrack was all done for the game.

Theres only 3 tracks in the music folder...considering the game has a SOUNDTRACK.... I doubt all the music is in the demo.

It isn't all in the demo, as I understand it there is just a small sample of the full game's music included. It was however, commissioned especially for EU3.

The company now confirms that the soundtrack has been originally composed for Europa Universalis III, produced by renowned composer Andreas Waldetoft. This is not the first original soundtrack Andreas has produced for Paradox Interactive; his most recent work could be heard in Hearts of Iron II.

I can't express how disappointed I was when I booted up the demo to find no period tracks. One thing I've always loved about EUII was the soundtrack composed of actual music from the time periods. I'm an early music fanatic and I really was looking forward to what interesting tracks they'd decide to use for this game. I can't imagine it was cheaper to go with a living composer, but as someone who also supports his new composers, I'm happy they gave him work.....but still, I liked the old way better.

I agree. The music really sets the mood for the game. Its definitely a strong point.

I loved EU2's music, I was afraid they'd get EU3 wrong with the commission, but the sample in the demo was great.

The new music is good, as game music goes, but it really can't be compared to real early music... both in terms of sheer listening pleasure and historical atmosphere.

If you like the EUII music, can't you just copy the EUII folder into EUIII?

I'm really surprised they don't have some Yngwie Malmsteen set up to play whenever you're fighting a war. The guy is Swedish, after all. Not to mention ridiculously good.

it's not QUITE as simple as that...but yes there is a way to change out the old music for the new music....maybe i'll make a guide....maybe not lol

What I exactly did with HoI2, most probably will do it for EU3 too. I still find the music in demo pretty neat, far better than what HoI2 offered. Still, I'm sorry to see (hear ) Paradox not continuing with its old trend concerning soundtracks.

Vivaldi's Summer > generic stuff any day of the week and I'm not even into classical music..

I didn't hear one harpsichord which is a damn shame. If someone makes a period music mod I will definitely use it instead.

So it's possible to say that "this" soundtrack can be played in the XVth century, and this another soundtrack only be played in the XVIst century ? (etc.)
