Hey folks,
First time poster so I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.
I managed to get a cheap copy of EUI installed it on my XP machine and the first few times everything was fine. But now they're not, Everytime I try to run EU I get the little Paradox into then I get dumped back into my desktop. I'm trying the various compatability options at the moment, but not having much luck so far. Any one have any tips for me?

Try setting you desktop colour quality at 16bit.

Wierd.

But then we enter phase two - are all your drivers up to speed? Update to latest directX and graphics card drivers.

I that fails I guess you could also experiment with 'compability mode', right-click on the .exe and choose 'properties' then 'compability' and set it to run as if in W95 environment.

edit: Try the 16bit first, that sounds easier ;)

Ok, tried changing display to 16bit, but no luck. Tried "compatability" to Win 95 desktop 640x480. Updating drivers just now. The stragest thing is it worked fine the first 2 times I ran it but now just refuses point-blank. Only other thing I can think of is possibly closing all my virus software etc. Any more suggestions out there? Or is my computer just useless?

Well, hm, did you do anything with the computer between the last attempt that worked and the first one who didn't? Install something or change a setting?

In EU2 some rare users managed to get a CtD instead of error message when they tried to start the game without having the CD in the CD-drive. Could this apply to you? ;)

If nothing else works I'm going to start using the non-game-specific EU2 support hints on you and see if they work for you.
If you want to use them yourself without my interference (assistance?) you can find them in this thread, post #5.
