EU4 won't start.

EU4 wouldn't start since November. I clicked play, steam said it's preparing to launch it, my status goes to In-game, however nothing happens and then my status goes to online. I did a clean re installation of EU4, deleted the Paradox Interactive in my the documents folder, verified that C++, DirectX and .NET were properly installed, tried running the game from the .exe file, nothing, nothing works. I then opened the game up in OpenGL, and the launcher worked just fine, was able to do everything i normally do. So i click play, and the game then still doesn't work.

Specs: GTX 880M, i7-4700MQ @ 2.40 GHz 16gb of ram OS: Windows 8.1
