EU4 Wiki contest - €309 worth of prizes

To celebrate, and get the wiki updated for the expansion, the wiki is running a [contest](http://www.eu4wiki.com/Europa_Universalis_4_Wiki:Contest).

Users can enter the contest by contributing to the wiki during that time span. Various actions give raffle tickets; the more tickets one amassed, the more likely one is to win. Whoever gains the most tickets will receive €40 in credit for the Paradox web shop, and can potentially win a prize in the raffle. Note that this credit cannot be spent across multiple orders, but a single order may contain multiple games.

Further winners will be selected using a random number generator. A single entrant cannot win more than one prize in the raffle. An entrant's chance of winning is proportional to the number of tickets they've obtained.

The prizes in the raffle are 5 copies of CKII, and 3 copies of the HoI3 Collection. Each copy of each game is raffled off individually.

It is worth noting that updating especially outdated pages is especially incentivized.
Updating a page/section from 1.7 or older to 1.10 is worth 50% more than usual. (8 sections gives 3 tickets, 4 pages gives 3 tickets).
Updating a page/section from 1.2 or older to 1.10 is worth 100% more than usual. (2 sections gives 1 ticket, 1 page gives 1 ticket).

Hopefully we'll finally get the most outdated pages properly updated now.

I think most people have the rewards, but thanks for the reminder on updating the wiki. As a suggestion, it might work better to give beta testing access as a reward instead in the future. The people that write extensively on the wiki are also most likely to notice exploits, bugs and issues in a myriad of countries, and many dedicated players might find themselves updating the site if such a reward was on the table. Just a thought.

I'm afraid beta access is considered a development tool, not something to be given out as a prize. Though having a history of good wiki edits is certainly something you can point to when applying for a Paradox beta.

However, we'll think about what kind of prizes we could provide in the future that most editors would not already have.

So far the contest has been highly successful. In 48 hours we've gone from no pages updated for 1.10, to 155 pages updated for 1.10. Pages for 1.10 became more common than 1.9 yesterday, and more common than 1.8 (the largest category until now) earlier today.
All told, about 43% of all pages are now marked as up to date, and that number is rapidly increasing.

Mostly, this can be credited to TheWinner and Mapleyy, though at least a dozen other editors have contributed as well.
For their efforts, they between them currently hold 94 of the 144 tickets so far given out, Mapleyy having 54 and TheWinner having 40.

TheWinner also significantly contributed in the contest following Art of War, where he earned 78 tickets, putting him in 1st place. Though at this rate he and Mapleyy will both likely break that record.

The contest is over, and winners have been drawn.
Mapleyy earned the most tickets, at 407, getting the €40 voucher.
Five winners were drawn for CKII:

• Rump (5 tickets)
• Mapleyy (407 tickets)
• TheWinner (266 tickets)
• Certh (25 tickets)
• Stigni (45 tickets)

Three winners were drawn for HoI3:

• Chrras (24 tickets)
• Curbon7 (5 tickets)
• Snickersnak (3 tickets)

Overall, 950 tickets were earned, nearly 400 more than in the previous contest.

The contest was a resounding success. Virtually every page on the wiki got updated to 1.10, and the vast majority got updated to 1.11 when that released part-way through the contest. Only a single page isn't versioned for 1.10 or 1.11.
