Where's my money?
I don't need some deep lesson about the eco parts of the game, just your impressions....

well I'm more than double the size of the ottos, more than double their development, yet I earn almost half of what they get, I know that more provinces don't mean more profit, but more development does! there is too much difference, also I have 26 states and I can't have more for now, and they are already a lot, yes I could build some more ships and maybe, MAYBE get another +10 in trade but that wouldn't be enough the same, there's something I'm missing......

He's pulling your trade.

Pirate him.

I went 200 over FL in a run and still earned more money from pirating than my ships cost in maintenance.

Constantinople, Sevilla and English Channel always give more gold than your ships cost you and barely ever get protected.
Genoa and Venice get protected, forget them.

Development != cash. Not completely.

Things to look at:

  • autonomy
  • trade flow
  • prosperity
  • any other bonuses(including estate bonuses, temporary event bonuses, etc)
  • idea groups
Also why so many forts??

Edit: Also, culture. All Ottoman lands are of accepted culture. I doubt yours are

You said you earn half what they did. I said it's because they're pulling your trade.

I have a screenshot where he's getting 30 ducats a month over you. All of his trade should be yours. Will 30 ducats a month minimum save your ass from the monthly negative sound of death?

Here's the sceen:

index.php

As for other ideas: I don't see a reason why we should go in depth here.

He's pulling you and you're not pirating him. Easy double digit income extra in less than two years.

As far as dev/states, etc. concentration of development and culture is going to matter here. Ottos probably have everything stated b/c they're smaller, and it's all right culture (or accepted culture) land so it gets no tax penalty. And Constantinople, etc. are really high development provinces, probably way better than anything you have (except maybe something you've dev'd for institutions.

They might also have better ideas for econ; Otto NIs are pretty good, and if they picked Econ/trade they can really make the buckets of ducats. Don't remember what QQ gets.

Aside from that, the obvious thing is the production/trade income difference. They've probably been able to pump ducats back into manufactories and workshops early, while you've been spending it on expanding. Hence, Constantinople is (probably) insanely rich, while your nodes aren't.

Obvious things to check: how much is leaking out of Aleppo/Alexandria into Constantinople? If it's a lot, can granting CoTs to Merchant Guilds/building trade buildings/trade edicts boost your power substantially, thus retaining more for you/less for them.

Form Persia? Goods produced + production eff. is a beautiful combo. I assume you have empire rank already, but if not, the cultural union would help as well.

Are they ahead of time on techs? You get a nice 15% to production/trade income from Admin and Dip, respectively. And be a nice boost.

You do earn less from each province that has wrong culture and/or religion. And perhaps state limit hits you this hard? 75% everywhere means very little profit.

Yeah you cover such a wide range of cultures, from Egyptian to Persian to Ruthenian. Restate your country so your highest dev provinces are in states, and then accept cultures so you don't get that penalty. When you do backstab Ottomans (which you should sooner rather than later), get Constantinople centres of trade first (Sinop, Hudevinevieningier, etc) so you can start getting more power there, and then move your main trade node to Constantinople. Your QQ is in a weird spot geographically. Looking at trade everything you own could/should be going into Constantinople. Alexnadria, Crimea, all of Persia, etc, should all go to Constantinople, so getting power in that trade node is going to be vital.

You’re spending 16 ducats a month on forts you don’t need and haven’t developed and stated your gold mine.

Fix those two things and suddenly you’ll have a good enough surplus to be reinvesting into buildings and starting to snowball your economy. Also, you’re spending 32 ducats a month on advisors. Is that necessary if you’re not satisfied with your economic situation?

Its 1600, you start next to Asia, your tradeincome is the lowest of the 3.

Any of your land north of Casucasus is practically useless to you.

You have about 20 forts more than what i would have.

If anything you are feeding Ottomans money through the Alexandria node.

Why do the Ottomans still exists?

Why does Venice still owns islands around Anatolia?

Did you even build any manufacturies? Look at the ratio of tax/production income for you and others.
There is no way taxes would be higher than prod by now.

Having more than 0 forts is too many for most starts.

Forts are economically designed around multiplayer semitall play and bonused AI.

Anyways your trade position is legit terrible. Persia is too trollable with caravan power, Aleppo and Alexandria are ass tier nodes you will never get high control on, etc.

The biggest lesson is nonTC land sucks, with few exception. I can double your income off an OPM start simply by eating India / Malacca. Just take your TC merchants and collect everywhere. Even better you won't have to kill revolts and your FL will be larger

How valuable tcs are compared to other regions has always confused me. Why would controlling Egypt or Persia be less valuable to France or England than a part of India or east Africa?

well part of it is also the very bad states of ROTW compared to Europe, and the awful trade nodes in ROTW outside of the TC regions. Seriously there is not a single good trade node outside the TC regions I can think of...

Even the best non-TC region - Persia - is destroyed in potential by caravan power mechanic ensuring that random Tunis that sends a single merchant will spirit away 25%+ of your trade income. Nearest node to conquer to deflect this potential is ... Constantinople which you guessed it, Europe.

Of course I brought up this issue in state imbalance, but I guess Euro-only players can't compete with only a 4/6k point advantage, there must be more.

Why do the Ottomans still exists?

Because I called them in 7 succesfull war, because they got(not anymore) double my army and more quality, because they are also allied with france and because I have no other allies.....

Did you even build any manufacturies? Look at the ratio of tax/production income for you and others.
There is no way taxes would be higher than prod by now.

I built some of those, but only a few that were worth the cost, also, I can't build a lot since I don't get enough money to invest

4)Ideas might matter? Did he take economic ideas?
5)What is your goverment? did you reform?(I know you are not horde not asking that goverment)

They got trade ideas
I didn't reform, it would cost too many adm points and I'm saving those for hum ideas

You’re spending 16 ducats a month on forts you don’t need and haven’t developed and stated your gold mine.

Ok for the gold mine, I didn't notice that, for the forts.....
I'm spending those 16 ducats and they are all off or I would have the eco negative sound of death.....
the thing is I'm greedy, I don't want to give up on anything and the forts give me some traditions(even thou that doesn't worth all those ducats, I know)

I know persian ideas are reaaally good, but I prefer Qara's for now, I'm an empire reached by the crown button with 1000 dev and 75 prestige, no decisions.....

I'm thinking to transfer my trade capital, should I? and where?
Aleppo....alexandria maybe?
