Yeah but he was supposed to do 2 more wars and it halted my expansion. Ended up losing the savegame because those other Italian states were like vultures, grabbing the possessions of the dead King. Especially his provinces.

The meme picture you paired with 'douchebag france' captions is usually exclusively used with captions about someone being cool dude. For 'what a douchebag' memes a different image, called 'scumbag steve', is used.
I for one didn't know that, thx. There is obviously more rocket science in memes than I thought. I guess we will have chairs for memology within the linguistic faculties by next semester...

It's quite sad really. I was only trying to contribute and I'm immediately put down.
Being baffled by the fact that someone doesn't have your vast knowledge of memes isn't "contributing".
You got put down for a good reason imho.

That site is only useful if you know a meme's title though or are skilled at Internet searching.
I meant that it would be good if there was some good way to tell others what popular memes mean. On can't blame people for not knowing each of a countless memes out there.

It wasn't my intention to put anyone/-thing down with my post. I'm just surprised that there seems to be such a thing as a canon meaning or connotation to a meme picture. Hence my slightly sarcastic comment. No offence.

Standard meanings and connotations is what makes them memes, rather than captioned pictures.
But knowing and recognising them all requires a high level of Internet addiction....
