Ok, I haven't played in many months as I moved. My computer is now always set up to a 40 inch hdtv, and I'd like to play it on the tv. I tried lower resolution and 720p seems ok with the font mod.

However, using the wireless mouse and keyboard is a mega pain. Does anyone know of a good trackball/keyboard or another type of game controller that could be used to play eu4 (and ck2).

I need specific brand/model as I am not tech oriented and would need to find it online.

Thanks
Cheers

What exactly are you unhappy about? If the screen is lagging behind then that has almost certainly nothing to do with your input devices, make sure you go into the settings menu of your TV and tell him that your input source is "game"/"pc"/"desktop" or whatever it may be called in your instance. Disabling any kind TV-applied of post-processing helps as well, I had the same problem once and doing all of that helped tremendously. If you're simply uncomfortable with the mouse + keyboard combo in front of a huge TV for ergonomic reasons, the only non-mouse alternative I know of that is supposed to come close to using an actual mouse in terms of precision is the steam controller, but I got no experience with it and don't know how it would work with EU IV.

Better UI Mod works wonders. Although it's designed for higher resolutions like 1080p. I'd also recommend Graphical Map Improvements for better map fidelity.

As for a wireless keyboard/mouse combo, you could try Logitech's Wireless Touch Keyboard K400. It's cheap, but I'm not sure how ergonomic it would be for long gaming sessions in the living room. It's on Amazon for £28 I think. It depends how much you're willing to spend on one.

"I dont want to play pc games, help me not play a pc game"

trackball is the only way you have to go, this isnt the game you want or would use a gamepad on

Thank you for the replies.

To clarify, I am not unhappy about anything, I am just trying to figure out how to play EU4 or CK2 on a HDTV while sitting 5 feet from it in my sofa, since my only computer is now dedicated to the TV (family decisions).

1) For those recommending a trackball, do you have a preference as to which
2) Thanks for the steam controller tip. The release is March 2015, thus it isn't really feasible right now (looks great though)
