I've receuntly bought myself a new PC and installed EU4 on it. However, it refuses to launch. As I press the play button it tells me that the launch failed. I found a thread where someone had a similar problem. I tried making the same steps ( installing the Visual studio packs and allowing it in the Windows defender). Nevertheless, the problems pops up again and again. May it be related to the fact that one of the links provided by an admin was missing so I didn't download the full set of Visual C++ packs? Or is it something wrong with the system? Please help.

In the game launcher please set Display mode to Borderless.
IF that doesn't help, Install ALL these Microsoft modules:
(run dxsetup.exe after extracting from this download)
Add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
Also if you have installed RivaTuner, RadeonPro, or a gaming VPN app called Evolve, or the MSI Gaming App, or Duet, disable it as it clashes with this game.
IF NEITHER OF THOSE HELP:
DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
From your Documents/Paradox/EU4/logs/ folder, attach error.log .

Still doesn't launch. Directx End-user Runtimes link tells me 404 error. The files needed are attached in the main post
Looks like MS have changed or lost the DirectX 9 link. The same installer is available to you in .../Steam/SteamApps/common/Steamworks Shared/_Commonredist/DirectX/Jun2010/
Did all the others run okay?

If none of that helps exit the Steam app entirely then run eu4.exe directly from Windows Explorer. Do you see any Windows error now when it fails?
None helped. There's no windows error but a loading screen (Europa Universalis IV) pops up and then it disappears and nothing happens. There's no app running in Task Manager

Whether that's causing this game issue I'm not sure. Our similar game Crusader king 2 is free to play on Steam now, does that have the same problem as EU4?
Actually no. CK II launches well and I am able to play it. I will try to fix this problem. Will write you later
I've been trying to solve the problem using different methods such as changing compatability, screen mode, resolution but none helped. the only thing that might help is updating BIOS. Idk if this will fix it. Do you know any other ways to tackle the issue?
Are you still getting that Windows error I quoted above? If so I suspect you'll probably have to do a Windows Reset, or a clean reinstall. I doubt a bios update will fix it.
