Oh, so close to having a clue and yet so far.

I have a truce with the country. Because I just took territory from them. That got autoadded to my colony. Which has no truce with them. So I can't enforce peace because I have a truce.

Do you get yet why this is such an obvious and shitty bug?
Speaking of "having a clue"

How did you get a truce with them while your CN didn't as your CN is automatically involved in any war that you are and gets the same exact truce. Your story doesn't add up...

You should try actually reading the thread I originally linked before you started jabbering.

I take provinces from a country. My CN doesn't exist yet. My CN forms after I take the provinces. (Either from coring or finishing colonizing shortly after the war.) The CN forms without my truces. But it now has a bunch of provinces that the nation still has cores on. So they happily declare war to retake their provinces. I have a truce, my CN does not, so they can do this, and I don't get called into the war.

THAT IS THE BUG.

Of course it makes no sense, that's why it's a bug.

Now I can't enforce peace, I can't join the war, all I can do is do a trucebreak *separate war* and that still doesn't let me force peace, only pacify them and hope my CN takes provinces and ends their war.

Can I ask why you guys chose the Cascadia flag you did for the new formable nation instead of the Doug flag?

For those disagreeing with me stating that Cascadia shouldn't be in the game, please do tell me why a movement that has no basis except it's a geographical term that came into use in the 1970s, should become it's own tag.

Because Cascadia is an existing colonial region in the game with no associated formable. Your argument doesn't hold much water when there are existing colonial formables that break the same rules. In those cases they are best imagined as 'what-ifs'.

Great
Again even more provinces to micromanage. Why not make every screen pixel a separate province?
UI strange and counter-intuitive. Fractional estate land percentage (20.00001%) anyone?
I suppose it's time to end my 7-year long addiction
Can only congratulate myself I did not purchase any paid DLCs

This game stop being historical the millisecond you unpause, why not create content for things that did not happen but could have happened and are plausible scenarios?
Besides MarshalDray is correct, that colonial region did not have a formable and needed one, just as any other colonial region needs a formable.

Enforce peace is a thing, and getting to 100 relations is no more than a single gift away even if you don't send your diplomats to improve them...
You obviously has never seen your new colony get stolen from you because someone who had a truce with you invaded it and made peace before you could even impose peace. The whole system is stupid, subjects should inherit the truces of his overlord.

This is a HUGE problem in MP because you literally fight for years to take a few colonies and then he can declare war in your new colonial nation while you can only watch as he retakes everything you fought so hard to get

You're right, I haven't; because I'm not dumb enough to only take part of the enemy land and then core it so they can attack my new CN while I have a truce with them. Self-inflicted issue...

- Updated Growth of Port event for post-Dharma centers of trade (so it will fire more often now)
Did you fix it so it actually replaces the natural harbor with a CoT or is that still broken making it a completely negative event?
Okay, so looking at the event change...

The "fix" was to make it so it no longer can fire for the estuaries, only for existing coastal CoTs of level 1...

Color me unimpressed since they didn't change any of the estuaries to reflect the change. Sorry Manhattan, Philadelphia, etc., you'll never be any significant center of trade...

Yeah of course it becomes not 100% historical after unpausing, I don't want it 100% historical, but it doesn't mean certain formables should become present, some tags in the game already shouldn't be in the game, examples such as Westphalia and Quebec. Regarding colonial regions and need formables, it already has one, the new Alaska tags, which even that is ridiculous. I've said in other threads on the issue that naming it Columbia or Oregon would be better, personally I prefer Columbia over Oregon. It's a name that was actually used during the game's time frame.

Also I want to see the Cascadia Colonial Region broken up because it makes no sense to group it all together with Alaska. Alaska should be a trade company at best, for EU IV's time frame and the available technology, the living conditions are horrible and supply lines to it arguably even worse. Even the Russians didn't really colonize it, and how crappy Alaska is to live in is noted by the game with how few provinces there are in it. On top of that, Alaska's main trading good, outside of gold which a colonizer would want for themselves under a trading company, is oil which is useless for EU IV.

Enemy is larger than you can take in one go. You can't sit on the uncored land for the 10 years+ of the truce. You are dumb enough to not see the obvious bug as an obvious bug.

Unless they've changed something while I wasn't looking (I ignore the colonial game because I think it's a pile of pants), most New World provinces do not generate OE when uncored, because they were colonized. (Mexico is of course the big exception.)

But it's only a workaround, and you're quite correct to highlight the problem.
