Aside from the usual concerns about performance due to additional tags being added, the content itself looks interesting. I do sincerely hope that you're able to make sure that there's not another massive performance drop like there was with 1.30.
Let me tell you that late game lags come even as there are way less tags than at start of the game, there's not going to be a major drop because of tags like these that only have ~1 province each to care about. It's when there's major wars late game where there's 2 nations or more fighting against each other covering each several hundreds of provinces where the evaluation becomes heavy.

That aside, any plans for North American formable nations? We already have plenty of alt-history formables in Europe and Asia, I don't think some form of "Grand American Federation" or the like would be too bad a formable. It would certainly give you something to shoot for once you reform.
No formables like that, but I do want the Federations to somehow be formable but not sure how to make that happen.

Never actually played one of the North American tribes. I've always considered the Americas to be a bit bland and boring (with the exception of the Aztec and Inca), but this definitely makes it a lot more appealing. Looking forward to it. Will definitely be playing in south east Asia first though!

Are you going to give mission trees to Mesoamerican and Andean tags? At least to Aztecs and Cuzco/Inca? Or are you going to move to Eu5 with out retouching them?

I really hope this update is the free-one that usually acompanies the DLCs, because we have not seen yet any free patch since 1.30.

Ps. Western, Eastern and Central Africa are in desperate need for an update, in case you forgot.

Ps.2: Still 1.30.4 is riddled with a lot of bugs and typos...

What is a member of the beta program?
All of our games have their own closed beta, I usually use the members of the beta as sounding board for ideas or to test things. Some of them also from time to time contribute to the game like @Evie HJ done here.

Thrilled with this! A rework on this scale of North America has been long overdue.

Is there anything you can tell us about how these changes tend to play out in test games? How much warfare does there tend to be before and after Are there any nations that tend to expand? Do European colonisers face more resistance/difficulty when they start colonising NA?

What are Federations supposed to represent? Do Pontiac's alliance or Tecumseh's confederacy represent in-game Federations? Won't Native Americans have reformed by the time those Federations formed IRL?

What is the goal of Federations?

No formables like that, but I do want the Federations to somehow be formable but not sure how to make that happen.
There is that now-empty advancement part of the menu, maybe there could be some system of unifying bonuses (at the cost of some cohesion and or other resources like mana) that at the end would have the nations unite into a new single tag. A bit like mini-HRE reforms.

A small point, but what about unit models? I don't think we can expect a completely new unit pack for these, but will some of these new nations have some of the existing unique models for north america to break up the tedium of all the generic unit models that they'd otherwise get? In particular those nations who were born out of the splitting of a former nation with a unit model set, like the Iroquois ones?

No formables like that, but I do want the Federations to somehow be formable but not sure how to make that happen.
If a tribe reform itself it should be possible to make the federation a playable tag for the leader if it contains all its historical members or if it controls some required provinces or a X number of provinces. Other member should accept if be made vassals, being annexed or going their own way after the tag is formed.

So with this dev diary are we finally going to talk about the RNWs trade regions being bugged out now? I mean I know you guys make a point out of ignoring this problem but this patch seems a nice enough reason to fix this feature people explicitly played for no?
