With no efficient espionage, insta click decreasing of war exhaustion, instaclick increase of stability... and with revanchism, blobs are even harder to counter right now.

I played Eu3 with Alsace. It was the most fun I had with any paradox game, since you were able to hold against a blue blob + white blob with playing optimally. Now blobs either will dominate the game with a victory, or with a loss.

I know you are really trying hard to make multiplayer fun, and that is what you are focusing on, but for me, this revanchism thing is too gamey for singleplay. Maybe you should consider different rule sets for multi and singleplay.

You also need to change the tags in cases like that, for an example a norway that loses norway and just remains on iceland should stop being norway.

Maybe read up on the history of Poland. The idea of a nation amorphously morphing across the land due to war is very historical. I kicked England out of England, leaving them with only colonial provinces. Although this never happened in real life, I can't think of anything more flavour-rich than that happening in a game.

revanchism could be okay, but I think it should be a decision one takes rather than automatic. it should come at some cost, perhaps like enacting a policy, draining ADM each per month to have these effects. it's weird to think of a defeated country that got entirely wrecked with 20 war exhaustion just deciding the next day to plot their revenge and everybody in said country being on board with it

I think Revanchism could work well as an early/mid game tech, because if you think about it, nations in the 1440's were not as centralized/unified as they were during, say, the Eighty Years War, when Dutch people put aside their differences to overthrow their oppressive Spanish overlords. What does anyone else think?

I'm really not sure what to think about Revanchism. I don't like the sound of strong nations being even more stable and harder to cripple. Can you mod that?

Gee because gold becomming more useful would be such a tragedy. Also I seem to remember there beign some revanchism based on economic reparations after ww1.

Gold is pretty consistently useful now, given bigger default merc pool, PP from subsidies, lower global manpower (more reliance on merc), and 3/3/3 advisors. You can just dump it into FL buildings and buy more units until you're not way over at minimum.

Regardless, however, encouraging situations where a player "buys" revanchism by losing wars on purpose (more like 100% occupying some OPM and using "ducat toss" for morale) is silly, so it's good Wiz clarified that it's provinces...though this means that nations can be fleeced down by money still it also means that as an attacking nation you can still take these somewhat-lesser prizes without handing your opponent an advantage.

Wouldn't it be a better solution to make it dependent on the development of the current capital? Like 10 ADM per development?

Is it me or have we read a totally different dev-diary?
In all the counter-arguments you made the moving cost will be similar to what it is now; so what's your point again?
An increase of up to 350% adm for “nothing” is anything but similar to what we have now (...) Probably the only thing totally different is your understanding of what I was referring to.

explains the difference between Ironman and not-Ironman.

"Ironman mode forces you to play with lucky nations turned on, which, in its simplest form, gives a bunch of AI nations a bunch of BS modifiers that do not in any way represent why these nations were considered lucky in history, and is a terribly lazy way of forcing these nations to be strong. Even if you manage to take France down to an OPM, they will still be considered "lucky" for some strange reason"

Wiz, I would really like to know if you are planning to keep development a paid feature (requiring Common Sense). I have personally bought all expansion packs, and almost all of the flavour packs (music, portraits, units etc), but I know for a fact that a lot of people don't have the money to buy a €20 expansion. It feels like you are locking out a lot of gameplay by restricting development to owners of CS.

I am normally a big fan of your DLC policy, where you only get a small neat feature (i.e. mothballing a fleet or national focus), but it seems wrong that vanilla players cannot develop their provinces.

Recently reworked hordes in CKII and now in EUIV? Hopefully the importer will be able to deal with all the horses.

Also, hooray for the ingame achievement browser, seeing which ones you can get without having to leave the game is a huge convenience improvement for me.

Well, 20 years of revanchism for 100% WS is roughly the truce length. All this means basically is that if I whipe Sweden's armies, then it will take a few years to recruit a decent army instead of being dogpilled by every neighbour until my truce with them is over.

Revanchism *is* yet another large nation buff by the way. I'm not sure why they need more buffs TBH but I don't think this one is going to be too enormous, it'll certainly be less egregious than having to work around the 15 year truce rule unless they make the modifiers ridiculous.

While I like the idea of Revanchism, two things worry me greatly about it.

1) It's scaled to warscore instead of to size of a country. Suppose the Netherlands loses 40% warscore territory. That's a big chunk of their country. Suppose France loses 40% warscore. That's not a lot for France. Yet another EUIV mechanic that makes the blobs blob blobbier.
2) It will be the most use to blobs. Big Blue Blob conquers Sarai. Big Blue Blob cores Sarai. Big Blue Blob loses Sarai. Big Blue Blob now has a bonus.

But I guess the devs dont want this to be for filthy casuals like me because they have a better audience with the world conquest and multiplayer crowds.
