Please make it easier to upgrade mercenarys. A button to upgrade them like ships ( sitting in an owned core province )would be great ( you have to pay for the upgrade ).

Please make it easier to upgrade mercenarys. A button to upgrade them like ships ( sitting in an owned core province )would be great ( you have to pay for the upgrade ).
That wouldn't be necessary, since they will automatically upgrade like normal units.

Oh will you introduce an event for cultural resurgence when a culture flips back to an earlier culture and get's a buttload of separatism (only after their country unlocks the advanced CB's and as such has started national romanticism).

Swedish king Martin "Daneslayer" thought a culture conversion (read: genocide) on Danes will forever erase Denmark as a nation. The plan didn't work, because the Danes formed a "secret Denmark" in a random new world.

Blocking Canals (Free Feature)
Ever since we added canals in patch 1.6, we've had requests for the ability to restrict access to canals: After all, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that you'd just let an enemy fleet sail right through your canal so that they can land troops in your colonies. Free in the 1.14 patch is a change to canals that will prevent anyone who is at war with the owner of the canal from moving their ships through it.

I was hoping that it would work more like fleet basing rights--a country had to ask you for the right to use your canal and you would get some monthly dosh for it. Or, at minimum, it would work more like military access where you got to specifically choose whom to help w/ the access. Did you consider either of these, and if so, why did you opt to go with the quoted design over the others?

I like the culture conversion feature. Although it's not a total overhaul, it's good.

May I suggest one thing: can we see the current percentage of a specific culture? It is pretty opaque right now. If players can see the percentage of a culture (relative to all owned provinces), it will be easier for players to judge what action to take to maintain "accepted culture" status, or whether to try to make some culture accepted.

You can. Both in the tooltip of the cultures in government tab and in the page 32 of the ledger.
