How will OPMs deal with more than one estate expecting to control a minimum of development?

They only start demanding territory over a certain number of provs, with different numbers for different estates.

Why would you want to give any land to the clergy with those stats?

I can't help but notice that only the Nobility Estate has an interaction button. Can we expect to be able to interact with all of the Estates in some form or another or is it just the Nobility that can be directly interacted with?

And like others in this thread I'm also very curious about how it will interact with the current faction systems, as the Estates seem to conflict with the Merchant Republic factions especially.

Looks really exciting overall though, keep up the great work Paradox!

- all muslims without tech group and geographical restrictions?

Currently everyone that aren't western tech gets them. Note that in India the Hindus where essentially granted Dhimmi status either openly or de facto despite being nowhere near people of the book. Sometimes pragmatism just wins out ;)

They have loyalty under 50%, which is why they give penalties
Over 50% those stats would be postive instead

If you actually read the tooltip, it mentions that you only gain positive bonuses if they are over 50%, implicitly also giving negative penalties if you're below ... and on the screenshot the clerical estate is at 45%, which is below 50%

Awesome.

Does the Burghers estate rising replace the old revolution?

The problem with estates replacing or interacting with features like Ming factions, the Dutch Republic or parliaments is probably that Estates will be a paid feature which would create all kinds of problems.
The situation is kind of a mess tbh.

Thank God! I don't want to get too excited as we will have to see how it pans out, but this oughta spice things up a lot.

Plus finally a proper way to nerf the PLC. Make sure that they get a whole load of events empowering nobility and their ever increasing power with every election Wiz ;).

About time! Tying it to control over development also seems like a pretty smart move, one can simulate an estate's control over land in this matter.

I should point out here that the millet "system" as defined in older histories (and wikipedia) has since 1982 been proven to be a historical myth which projects the nineteenth century organization of Ottoman minorities backwards into the Early Modern period. Probably won't have any impact on the game, but we'll see how it pans out.
The millet system was used quite prominently in the Abbasid Empire. The Nestorian patriarch was for example considered the head of the Assyrian people. When they revolted, the patriarch was executed because the caliph considered him the head of the "Assyrian nation."

This will not happen.
But it's rare situatiion where it should be complete sane!
Monarch should have an ability to put his own authority to solve interestates strife. For many types of government it's counted as his sole task after all.

For faction, as the system is available in vanilla, the estate could simply replace it when you have the expansion, like privateer work differently whether you have WoN (or ED) or not...

This feature has great potential. I pray you don't leave it unrealised.

Oh, yeah.

Paradox unfortunately has a history in presenting features which had huge potential but eventually kinda fell short on their goal, and were never expanded again in later patches as the team moved on to new features :(
