Hi, is it possible to add a mechanic to simulate the non government led emigration of the Chinese Cantonese, Hakka and Min people? It's just quite weird to see all chinese colonies speak Jianghuai dialect...
In fact I was hoping for a VIC2 type of population system...

Could you explain the concept of colonial wars a bit more thoroughly? I don't understand what this option does apart from not allow you to call in your allies. Does it apply to the allies of the person you're attacking too or just the attacker? Are you required to use it to get the concede colonial area concession?

What I think would really make this tickbox matter would be that by enabling a colonial war, the war is entirely limited to the theatre in which the war is declared, plus naval engagements. This would mean that, for a colonial war declared over colonies in North Americas, 100% warscore would come from occupying all colonies or colonial nations in that theatre, and occupying or ceding provinces from the homelands are disabled. This would go a long way to stopping any colonial war turning into WW1!

This would also mean that a native nation wouldn't have to occupy Europe for a non-conquest CB.

It would be nice for at least one of those native policies to result in the province culture and religion not flipping to your own as soon as the colony is set up. You could even make the culture/religion flips events on an MTTH timer which could be adjusted up or down based on different variables, including which native policy you have activated.

As it is now, every country in EU4 appears to be pursuing deliberately genocidal settler-colonial policies on the very specific American-Canadian-Australian model. The minor bonus you get from "integrating natives" into a completed colony just isn't enough to pretend that's not the case.

I don't aggree that the coextistance way is the best. If you want to block of another nation you would most likely allways take the repell natives way and if you colonize your own continent you will most likely want the trade option. For example Russia could become much stronger if they get huge production bonuses in all Siberian lands.. My favourite one will most likely be the repell action if my country is rich enough.

About the concede colonial region peace deal. You should really add a real-colonial war cb to that too. In which it is impossible to call allies (on either side) but also impossible to take any non-oversea provinces. Maybe even with a feature which makes sieging in non-oversea provinces impossible -> you are forced to fight the colonial war as a colonial war.

About the call Protectorate feature: The feature sounds only usefull if protectorates become more usefull. At the moment I don't like to invest into my protectorates while they can break free whenever they want..

Hey uh, while we're here talking about France... I don't think their bonus for reducing the development costs on colonized provinces even works right now.

I don't have Common Sense, and recently played a game as France, so basically i was playing with fewer national ideas compared to the AI nations which was kind of awkward. On the other hand, i was playing as France :p

Concede Colonial Area (Expansion Feature)
As anyone who's ever fought a war over the New World knows, making peace can be a bit of a hassle. Finding all the provinces you want in a particular colonial area, ensuring they're all selected, and so on. Concede Colonial Area gives you a bit of a shortcut by allowing you to demand every province in a particular colonial region where you already have a Colonial Nation. In addition to gaining all the provinces the enemy has in the region, using this peace option will also block them from colonizing that colonial region while you have a truce.

-Does it in this case block all of Spain's subjects from colonizing the region too?
-Can I use 'Concede Colonial Area' as a shortcut to just select all provinces in that area and then remove one or two provinces if I like? Would the settler block still be applied in that case?
-Will the Warscore-cost for this option always cap at at 100%, even if I say took the giant Mexico region?

That's because there is no such thing. When a province is colonized there is a bonus added to the province based on the number of natives that were still there. France's idea doubles that bonus. In 1.13 that bonus was changed to goods produced from dev cost reduction. France's idea doubles this. But the localisation for the idea was not updated to reflect the change.

Looks awesome! I kinda wish the native policies had a bit more to offer since they're really just a formalization of the event that would popup but nonetheless I can't wait to jump into the expansion and carve out a British Empire :)

Can we get some sort of a bonus for colonizing on the same continent? It should be a little bit easier for China to colonize Taiwan than say Portugal. Maybe make some sort of bonus for capital proximity. It would help colonial nations so that it wont be equally easy for Brittany, Savoy and Portugal to colonize in Brazil when theres already a Portuguese Brazil colonial nation there

What about religion in your own colonial nation? Currently if you create a CN before reformation you are stuck with a catholic CN as protestand or reformed. A change on state religion must apply on the CNs too or at least a force religion option like we have with vassals.

^ this. I had to create events in my personal mod to make CNs change to Protestant religion if they were Catholic before mother country changed to Protestant.

I'm more hype about quality of life improvements than anything else. Being to take whole colonial regions sounds amazing.
