Are the tiles saved as pictures in the files? (Yes I am impatient and instead of generating RNWs again and again it would be easier to just go to the files.
No, there are several files telling the game how to build them. The tiles are just land masses, their climate and height can turn different.

I think I remember that there were originally plans to try to get the system to accept land borders on tiles.

Are there still plans to try to make something like this, or similar, work in order to create, for example, a thin land bridge between two otherwise disconnected continents? Or would the current system use the entirety of north and south america as a single tile, it it were generating the actual new world?

By this I mean if we wanted the random new world to have a chance to make the actual new world, would it have to be a single tile, and if so are there still plans to try to find a way around this?
Or would having it be a single tile actually be a sufficient solution?

The rule is that there has to be a tile labeled, if not strictly recognizable as, a continent. A whole-nw 'continent' consisting of ocean seems like it'd be as simple as making an empty tile and slapping a big CONTINENT flag on it. I wonder if anyone's going to make a Zealandia tile, on a different note...

For those worrying about the amount of ocean. Bear in mind that the RNW covers a good portion of the pacific too.

Provinces are smaller.

To clarify. This is tile dependent but it is generally true. Most continent tiles have more provinces than the regular new world would have for a land mass of the same size.

One question:
When I got Vinland or Templars, which techgroup they will be have?
When it will be western, they will be overpowered for the rest of continet, but at American Native thry will be muchh nerfed. The best way would bee giving them their own techgroups and units.

In one of your earlier Dev Diaries about the RNW you stated that you were hoping to get a few more options in.

The below is all merely ambitions, and none of it is guaranteed to make it into the RNW remake:
- Ability to set parameters for your new world before generation, such as province and native density.
- More variety in what you can find besides just world layout, for example there might be a small chance that the natives you find are actually more technologically advanced than you are.
- Being able to set the Nation Designer to start you in a random location in the RNW, which options such as whether you are OK with starting on an island all by yourself.

How many, if any, of these ideas made it in? If any did not make it, will we maybe see them in the future?

It will override new world from CK2 conversion.

What if Sunset Invasion is used in CK2 and Aztec has some provinces in Europe? Would it be possible to state in the mod, that Aztec and Incas should be forced to end up on with High American.

Somehow related to the converter? Would it be possible in the mod to use random ideas for non-RNW countries, i.e. assign random ideas to countries imported from CK2 that will otherwise end-up with generic ideas.

Can someone at Paradox answer a couple questions? :) Please :)

1) Are custom user created regions going to be available for events etc that can have provinces that are already in other regions? Last I heard a province was only going to be allowed in one region - is this still true? I have a lot of custom regions in my personal mod that do overlap with other regions and I hope we can still have this flexibility.

2) on the new culture changes - is there going to be any options in defines to stop the ai from converting cultures if the mod wants culture to only change manually through events?

The RNW generates in the country select screen when you decide you want a RNW. You can select your country afterwards.
