I'm very disappointed in Da9L.

He had it. Up until his second betrayal of Neva-Luki, he could still appear to be an indispensable ally to them. Every show of spite he made, I thought it could be a way to further increase the stakes for one final climactic war against the Central Power in which he would regain all that he lost : VC, but also trust. Now, who would ally him?

I even thought his quick capitulation was a way to bide his time against the imperium, in order to ally the East bloc and rebuild. But now, it is no longer possible. He let the Imperium and Canapé too far ahead. His stubborness made him lose the top three. He didn't see what we all saw : that he could have been the anti-imperium.

@Frederic III: Indeed. He had the chance to join the eastern alliance, refused, got another golden opportunity, and threw it away again. In addition, Bjorn didn't really start to aggressively play for points before this week's session, Fido has stated that he isn't playing for a (non-Mil-)trophy, the Iridescents haven't really been in a position to do so, either... Basically, they probably would have been OK with helping Da9l to defend his top spot, maybe even allowing Katz to become a trophy contender, although I can't remember where his other victory cards had spawned.

But surrendering his victory cards so easily and then backstabbing the eastern alliance means that Daniel is really just playing for 3rd place, and not even in a very convincing or secure manner. And honestly, that's why Bratyn would deserve first place this time - he's playing to win, not to avoid losing too hard. I'm sorry, Daniel, but if you really end up 4th again, this time it's your own fault.

Edit: I almost forgot - thanks, Bjorn and RageaiR, for providing a honorable 1v1 fight. And boo for the vultures that abused their honor to snatch an easy victory.

Our war was already planned long before the session started. Some of our opponents being distracted by other things is not going to put our plans on pause.

I went in this time with the mindset, I'm going to keep and honor all the deal I made, no matter what, so far I have and I will stand by it to the end. Last time they said that they attacked me 7 to 1 because I couldn't keep my deals (which was a bs reason nobody keeps all their deals), nobody can say it now. And now people have been wanted me to break those deal for X or Y reason, mostly for me to get the first place.

Just wanted to lay it out here. I agree that I've made some bad plays but to keep my deal I've had to do it. I look forward to the last session at least and think it will be pretty interesting!

Well it depends on which deals you honour. If it's a player who is being rushed by a hugbox (like last campaign), uphold your promises. If it's a player who is your immediate rival to claim first place, who has intimidated or backstabbed everyone in that campaign, who has strong allies and is actually winning their war, perhaps do like every other player does in these dev clashes: invent a loophole and break your deal.

That is indeed to be said: Daniel has kept his deals this campaign.

And you ruthlessly took advantage of it, as we have been saying you would be doing for three weeks now.

Was it part of the deal to throw away your VC's as well without a fight?

I mean I was rooting for you man, ever since you fort 8 spammed France against Prussia StarNaN and almost won...ever since that 800k man wipe off the coast of Brunei...

And now you let us all down by not fighting, and then when needed to fight, you barely put up a resistance and just threw away your cards! I hope your deal was that Drikus and Meneth becomes your vassals next season or something...

In Da9L's defense, it was an unwinnable war. He could draw the enemy away to try and reseize forts temporarily, but once Meneth and Bratyn came, they brought a 2/1 advantage on their side, and they weren't tapped in manpower, unlike Da9L was. He was always losing. The only question was whether it happened before or after his CNs revolted.

Let the endless bodies of the incompetent and cowardly Da9l, isolationist American Katz, the savage and frostbitten northeast, the sweaty southeast, and the disgusting Aquitaine cover the land and create fertile ground for your crops.
