I'm kind of disappointed that Fido doesn't use his incredible economic brilliance and doomstacks to try and be more of a potential top three. He'd have to backstab North Kuba-Luba which would be awkward, but after that he'd just need to maintain his alliances and convince his sidekicks to Persia Minor him to the top.

There's the problem, I don't like backstabbing and going back on deals I've made, especially the ones that are long-standing.
I will try to get involved in geo-politics, but landgrabbing is not that interesting to me, the more land, and the further apart it is, the harder it is to defend.
That said, Johan's AI has some things to answer for, so he'll get a bit of an ultimatum next session...

People who watched the stream may have noticed how reluctant I was to call him in, despite his offers. It took years before I did. If the entire East hadn't banded together and turned my (intended to be brief) war, for useless North-African territory and a revival of #VÄLFÄRD, into something beyond any reasonable proportions, I wouldn't have been sent into Britannia's arms. Perhaps, if the other side wishes my help against Britannia, they should think of the geopolitical consequences of banding together against me to defend pointless territory, and realise that such an act might well cause me to seek allies I would otherwise not have wanted. They could well have asked themselves the question of what was more important; a dozen 1/1/1 provinces in North Africa, or a powerful potential ally against Britannia.

It did, because if he hadn't been involved he wouldn't have survived the session at all. No one came to his aid, even those who were unaware of our plans in that region, the Raven was doomed the second Johan stepped out.

At least this way he gets to contribute in the remaining sessions, maybe he even grows into the role and ends up betraying us and regaining his independence.

@DDRJake jake I think the main problem of Aquitaine was to have missed a session at the start and be releguated a secondary power as a result...

That session I missed would've changed Western Europe a lot, a war that never happened. Either Johan would have grown much stronger or I would have. But it is what it is.
