To prevent him from turning his diplomatic charm aganist him?
Still don't know why they'd agree to that. Even if he did join the block I don't think he be calling the shots. Creating the big coalition and holding it together was a huge diplomatic success. The Papal states are safer now then they were at the beginning of the session.

The Germans did the right thing sticking together to the very end.

"Honor est fides". I just made that up but it always sounds more profound when you say something in Latin. :)

Only think you could learn in this MP game,

ALWAYS:

culture swift in moment you can spare your core provinces to the your main culture.

Prussia losses in this war would by far less, when he wouldn't get finnish and swedish rebels.

He never played for navy game, so he had enough time, to use his diplo points for culture swifting.

Well then clearly a larger diplomatic success would have been using the Germans to take Northern Africa. Yes, the Papal States are safe and sound for the rest of the game. :)

The war was very well fought on the German side. Andalusian blood has been spilled.. and for what.. Vermont and USA told they would fight, and they barely did!

Men of all Nations in the world were killed on the steppes, while vermontians(??) And Americans fled back to the new world!

(For real though, excellent timing from Mexico)

Good point, I'm always learning new things in this game! And maybe a costal fort in Pomerania. Did he have any there?

The Germans seem loyal to those who are loyal. Why not join them? Why not cement a bond with that terrifying power? They helped Vermont.
And continue the rest of the sessions doing only what I know the German bloc will abide by? Which would probably be a lot, to be fair, but the United States demands freedom, for all peoples and itself.

Getting that coalition together was indeed hard work! I'd like to thank all my friends and allies around the world for coming to my aid in my hour of need. (I was given to understand that my annihilation was the Germans' top priority this session...)

Something that should be mentioned: the real deciding factor was Hungary. They're the one that could profit whichever way they went. Their main ally, Timurids, was out for the session, and they would profit whichever way they went (as long as they won).
Would the coalition have attacked with Hungary sticking with the Germans? I doubt it.

Would the coalition have attacked with Hungary sticking with the Germans? I doubt it.

Bringing in Ming and the Indians on the same side was also a major coup, originally they were all going to be neutral, and things would have looked very different that way... Took some hurried negotiations to pull that one off!
