If Starnan rapidly eats the rest of France + part of Spain unopposed, then it’s game over and Austria wins.

If Byz and Co attack Austria with the Western powers + Johan, then I figure Western odds at 1/5, but Austria should win.

If the West War happens, and the East jumps on Centrals (Manchu + Malaya are 1 & 3 army size), then it’s gg and Austria wins.

If the Center and the East fight at all, Austria wins.

Also, what sidekick from the west (Bohemia/Pope/Holland) or center (Hungary, Persia, Mali) gets a trophy? That’s right. And you can assume Austria wins a loyalty test, since at the very least, his vassals can’t peace out.

The only salvation is Kaiser Johan. He must support independence of the Big 3 HRE vassals, launch a war with all the Western powers engaged, restore France, and keep the East off his back. It’s impossible, but if he did, he’d truly be a 6/6/6 player.

Why are some commenters here so insistant on backstabbing? Why the hell would they think that StarNaN would integrate Bohemia, Papal state and Holland? It would be completely ridiculous if he ever wants other players to trust him in the future. Same thing for Hungary: Why do people think that sidestep will backstab Byzantium? He might get third place with Byzantium, but siding with Austria will not give him that (StarNaN will rather benefit his loyal vassals Pope and Bohemia)

For the HRE, it's because vassal revolts can be a pain and having StarNaN control the units is preferred over many AIs with few players controlling armies.

For Hungary, I wanted that before the revoke... Now I fear Hungary can only is doomed to a lesser trophy (although better than nothing) and may need to stay with Byz.

Why do people expect StarNaN to join the anti Byzantium coalition? (in fact, ForzaA even wrote that some players are more annoyed with the passivity of the Central Block than the rapid expansion the Eastern Europeans. imho, the (inofficial but obvious!) non-agression-pack was the only way to survive. Early expansion in the HRE is a bitch and the unholy alliance in the west would have been the next danger. This was the best course of action, even if his block should lose against the other block

I was actually suspecting just that, but joining the coalition would have been better for diplomatic reputation.

on the way forward I feel Byz needs to attack Austria soon or suffer the consequences of letting western units get strong (or revolutionary HRE if that can happen), in which case Austria needs allies...

Sadly I believe those three HRE vassals are forever lost to the other side of the Iron Curtain...!

Sadly I hope not... victor was about as boring as watching paint dry and he doesn't have a handle on the controls either....
Is there a reason we can't get somebody with some experience to fill the bill like, Da9L or Wiz or even cknoor....
