Maybe you should ask Fryz then, the one that handle this region overhaul...I still don't understand where paradox gets all their information from... I can't find some of the nations on google/wikipedia.
He is part of pax sinica mod...

I don't know about Oirats, but Bohai was much more historically important than Korea Bay. The naming convention should be tilting toward important features, because they tend to be mentioned more in history. Yes, it does not impact game play, but it does have different contextual flavor that I don't think is historically correct.no, i don't think your points are worth supporting, bohai bay, korea bay, it's just a so trivial thing that only radical nationalists will ever care (if they even would at all). And the north-west territory of Oirats isn't really that important neither.

There are very good sources of material other than google and wikipedia. Dare I mention libraries?
I have a big, heavy book called "History of the World", which has tons of infomation that I can't find in Wikipedia...Or books. Scores and scores of books.
I like the way you tune-up rest of the world.
One thing is horrbile for all polish that see Commonwealth north-western border.

Second, you need to have a rather convex shape of a province. If you don´t do this, you'll end up with all sorts of unintuitive thoughts when it comes to where units should move and how quickly.
Third, you need to bear in mind the number of connections a province has to neighboring territories. The number of neighbors is a crucial factor in military matters, and for game balance purposes.
So, if we valued history over balance or ease of play, an historical province of Warmia would be small, serpentine and surrounded by a concave province. This presents a lot of problems for a province-based game as we mentioned earlier.
No, I like the old 8 province. dividing provinces into north and south or east and west seems boring and irrelevant
Well, I'm happy for you that you have such an expansive sense of humor, but my post was not meant as a joke.Interesting post. As always, mgoetze. I think you deserve congrats also for being so funny.
But-But it is 'Wiz part' of post this time and not Johan so I also though you were joking......but my post was not meant as a joke.
Oh... LOL, didn't even notice that.But-But it is 'Wiz part' of post this time and not Johan so I also though you were joking...![]()
The rest of the content of your post is likewise suspect, then. :huh:Oh... LOL, didn't even notice that.![]()
Software development doesn't work that way. There's no guarantee that a EU4 released today would have been the current EU4 + all DLCs.As for the information, it's clearer and clearer that this expansion will turn the game into the game it SHOULD have been when it was first released, from which CoP and WoN could then have been added. Welcome to the year-long beta test of EU IV; now the devs know what we REALLY wanted.![]()
Probably because it's not the culture group map mode...BTW, I never realize that culture group map mode also show your nation name...
You just have 5 Posts in this forum. Do you have any qualifications to evaluate my suggestions? Do you have any suggestions in this forum? You just come here for fighting with with me. Before I'm very polite to send you a message, you never reply it. And you still rude in here......Who actually humiliate all chinese users on this forum?
As an outsider to this issue - if the area covers both bays it seems quite logical to name it after the more familiar term. The vast majority of outsiders have heard of Korea, I doubt many have heard of Bohai. When in doubt in these situations I'd say that familiarity wins (imagine having a popup from Korea Bay - it's trivial to find it without using search; Bohai, not so much).First, the Bohai/Korea Bay problem. Having compared the EU4 map with current maps, it seems to me that the area named Korea Bay in the game covers both Bohai Bay and Korea Bay in real life. In that case, it's simply a matter of choice. Here Paradox has chosen to use Korea Bay and I see no reason to doubt their choice, unless you have any other more powerful arguments in favour of changing the name.
I don't usually post much, but I would just like to drop in to congratulate the team on their excellent work in trying to improve the in-game map. While I have yet to see the impact on game balance, the new map is certainly a visual improvement, given the large area China covers.
I would like to know whether the current cultural setup in China will be changed, since it is currently quite ahistorical with the southern half of China being designated Cantonese. Hope some work will be done over there.
I would like to address some of the issues raised by Wudadi in the previous pages.

Second, the Oirat problem. My understanding is that you think the Oirats should be enlarged to cover the area around Lake Baikal. My view is that the Oirats being a nomadic horde, the area it controls over history is highly flexible at given times and hard to pinpoint exactly. While the map you posted may be an abstract estimate, it is by no means definite. It seems that while Chinese sources say that the Oirats controlled the area around Lake Baikal in history, there is little evidence to say to what extent they controlled the region. Western sources do not aide us much as the area was not known to the west until the Russians colonized Siberia. In any event, unless there are more sources which support your interpretation of the Oirat territory I would not recommend a change to the existing borders.
Finally, I would like to just briefly say that using large fonts, exclamation marks and emoticons do not help in explaining your side of the argument. People tend to take you less seriously if you claim to represent "most Chinese", and most certainly will think of you as a troll if you go insulting people or be confrontational in your tone.
