That wasteland tumor in Badiyat Ash Sham is disgusting.
I love it. That area has terrible gameplay, and adding a wasteland there is just perfect.

To be honest, incentives to not annex vassals would be kind of nice. Currently the only reason you leave them around is because you want to, not because it's strategically the better choice.

Azur Sem de Lis Or achievement becomes even easier.abandon cores that you no longer wish to fight for
Wastelands never bothered me in terms of gameplay, but it visually is awful. Imagine owning all of Arabia, zooming out, and just seeing a giant gray tumor in the middle of your Arabian Empire.
Granted that already happens, but I think it's going to be more prominent now.
How does adding a wasteland improve the gameplay there, by the way?
A solution I've seen proposed that I've always liked is to, if a nation completely surrounds (or controls all adjacent habitable land provinces) a wasteland, the wasteland would be "painted" the color of the nation that has surrounded it.Wastelands never bothered me in terms of gameplay, but it visually is awful. I seem to recall one of the devs stating that Central and South America deserve their own DLC, on the scale of CoP, but I can't find where that was said.Johan, could we please get National Ideas for Mesoamerican countries? I have repeatedly asked why didn't CoP give them those or why weren't they there in the first place. Aztecs are even involved in one (well, pretty hard) achievement on those grounds there really should be NIs for them, as other smaller and underdog nations in terms of the achievements have those too.
I think even trying to achieve it would be much more enjoyable with own national ideas.
Wastelands are pretty awful looking, but in this case, I really think it's a good idea. The area is huge and has substantial travel times, and it's a desert, so attrition is awful. Way too often you end up back-and-forths over that area that are just frustrating. It's not valuable, it's not useful, and it creates bad gameplay, so I'm pretty happy with it becoming wasteland.
Improved RoTW, new peace options, a thirty-years-war style conflict for mid game and more fleshed-out Rvolution for late game? Yes, please! At least the EU4 team delivered where CK2 team could not.

Haha... Yesterday: "Meh, what a bad DLC:.. We don't need more war!"
And today everyone: "Yeah! Take my money, yeah!"
Yesterday everyone here was complaining... Just like with CK2: Charlemagne. Because the people don't wait for more informations.
Yes, I'am one of them. Yesterday I was disappointed but today it seems quite exciting.
