I don't think the size is the problem. Taiwan is as large as Belgium.......
What is the point? Taiwan is an island where nothing happens. Divide it in 3 and it will take a bit longer to colonize it, that's all.

That way you could outweight if you would invest in new ships or get a quick boost to your naval warfare.

1) Why does it matter anyway? If you can conquer 200 provinces throughout an 1.7 game, and can still conquer 200 provinces throughout an 1.8 game, is the latter somehow less fun because the area of each province is visually smaller?
Yes, because the only reason (for many people) to play EU4 is to make as many pixels have the same color as possible.

Why would they do that? After 1420, the entirety of the island was owned by same country until this day.Like a splitted Sardinia,
That would be nice, but there are far more important provinces they should add in Europe.Ticino for Milan\Switzerland?

Yes, you are very funny. 10 points to you. I knew someone would make a comment like that. Most of England was ruled by the same country from 1420 untill today. Why didn't they make England just 1 province? Or 2 because of the civil war...

Sicily already has two provinces.Where's the problem? That's the same argument. At least two provinces wouldn't hurt Sicily.
Instead of balancing it for the probably less than 10% of players who only care about World Conquest and are annoyed that its now harder since, more provinces in RotW likely means more Base Tax and thus making them harder to annex.
funny how they revealed more about art of war here in the forums then they did in the fangathering XD
