You don't see how having more provinces doesn't improve playing the rest of the world? I guess you don't think France games would be any worse if you made all of France one province then.

Can we get another public argument here with the Empire developers? :D.

Instead of balancing it for the probably less than 10% of players who only care about World Conquest and are annoyed that its now harder since, more provinces in RotW likely means more Base Tax and thus making them harder to annex.

I don't even see how giving RotW more provinces something alot of people have been calling for for a while now since its silly how poor RotW is in comparison to Europe, is a multi-player focus change. Is your argument that more provinces in RotW means annexing should be cheaper per base tax now? So you think that cause we made Asia richer it should be easier to conquer Europe?

While I think you have a good case, it's too early to say for sure that they're adding more base tax into RoTW. A safer assumption is that they're taking the base tax of previous provinces and dividing it amongst the new provinces, which, while resulting in more provinces overall and thus more building space, does not necessarily mean there's more base tax.

Hopefully this new rebel mechanic will deal with the problem of OP rebel armies. Random colonial provinces popping up a stack half as large as a military with much higher tactics and constant 8/9 dice rolls... running out a Native American army with ease and then getting smacked by their people because now they all have the most state-of-the-art muskets and cannons...

I'm really excited for the new Reformation mechanics and Thirty Years War. Ending the game with the revolutionary and counterrevolutionary forces going at it sounds like a blast as well. The navy streamlining should be great too. I saw a few saying it is "immersion breaking." As someone who likes immersing myself in the period as well, I can't help but find the need to manually build a new ship and delete the old ones to be needless tedium, so tedious I've taken to usually just waiting to upgrade for when they get killed in battle. As someone who likes to play naval powers, when I really started playing this game a couple months ago one of the first things I thought when I unlocked the first ship upgrades was "I wish I could just click to upgrade my ships." Anyway, assuming this expansion is well-balanced and bug-tested, it will probably be one of my favorite expansions I've ever purchased.

I'm wondering if the Paradox makes Formosa(Taiwan) into a 3 provinces island(just like they did in the Heart of Iron series) this time, given that they're about to change the map in Asia. This will definitely make the game more historical(and fun).

Client states only an option during the Napoleonic era?

Seems like this dlc will make it worthwhile to play until the end of the game. Plus, this way the timeline could be extended, without feeling unnatural.

I'm fairly excited for this DLC. Hopefully the new mechanics will make a Thirty Years War and the Napoleonic Wars rather likely? One thing that I loved about PDM for Victoria II was that it made a Great War very likely while giving it a lot of flexibility as to what sort of GW it would be. Maybe now we can see stuff like Revolutionary Russia invading, and being defeated by, monarchist France in 1812.

Why, how? I'm honestly not trying to troll or anything, I just don't see how this release really improves RotW gameplay. If anything it seems it'll make it harder by improving Christian/Catholic countries.

From what I saw, different colors in the map (might just be the Europeans invading like usual) but it looks like new native tribes. Might have a new style of playing, akin to North American, but more war-like (like the DLC)

Have you? It's all about war, not more things to do during peace.

They're revamping the reformation and cardinals, rebels and support for rebels, 'local autonomy,' as well as a slew of new provinces. You can abandon idea groups and cores.

Well, I can at least say that the current EU4 runs about 3x as fast past 1700 on my computer than 1.5 did.
So the one time they said they optimized the code for this game was actually true.

So I'm not crazy, I thought the way it felt faster was just me imagining things or remembering wrongly since I hadn't played in some weeks.
