Eu4 Achievement bug

was playing Byzantium, enacted the Theme decision but I didn't get Bassilius, id there a reason why, have they changed it to something else. All my provinces are cored, iron man game starting out as Byzantium some mods but ones that allow achievements (i.e don't affect checksum). Is it just waiting to register the achievement or do i need to do more things

Try waiting until the end of the year, some achievements are only checked on the 1st of January.

Did you check the reqs in the achievement screen? If they're all green and it doesn't fire soon, it's definitely a bug....

Don't you need one more province in the Balkans and in Anatolia ?

It has never been tied to the decision, it requires owning specific provinces.

Are you talking about Basileus? Then you need to restore Roman empire and you have still a lot to do. Otherwise i dont know which achievement you are referring to.

Basileus requires you to reform the Roman Empire unless you're talking of another achievement. That's still a lot of work to do.

Check ingame achievement browser for why it can't fire.

And yes waiting to the next year is usually needed for it to fire.

it's not forming the really big roman empire, as all my friends have done it without doing that unless its changed, i have waited about 2 years, here's the what provinces i need, pretty sure i have all of them unless I'm being blind

You could always double-check against the exact requirements, if the province list in-game is too long to check. All achievements, with their exact requirements in pdx-code, are defined in \steamapps\common\EUIV\achievements.txt. That file uses province numbers instead of names, but fortunately the wiki has province lists that allows us to translate those to names.

The images matches though, as far as I can see. Do you lack any of the tiny islands (like Corfu) that are hidden behind the government tab in the screenshot?

The phrasing is inconsistent because the Basileus achievement was in patch 1.1 before the "Reform the Roman Empire" decision even existed. It made sense at the time as there was no other meaning. They never bothered to change the achievement wording after allowing the player to "Reform the Roman Empire" in Mare Nostrum.

Yeah, the images are pretty close, Corfu and the stuff on the Eastern Adriatic are the only provinces you can't really see. I can't tell if the map on the wiki is up to date regarding provinces changes either. If not, OP might need a few more around the edges.

Click on the Achievement (Trophy) icon, scroll down to the achievement and see if it has a red cross or a green check. If you hover over it, it will list the total number of requirements and which ones you've completed. Hopefully you'll see most/all of the list, but sometimes there will just be the number to let you know how many provinces you still need.

Did any of these provinces change in CoC? If so, it's entirely possible the achievement is bugged. That can happen if province ids get changed/added or areas altered.

When you click on the trophy icon, nothing shows up? Is it grayed-out? It looks active in your screenshot.

Or do you mean there are no achievements listed there?

Did you change the start date or already completed it?

They only added provinces in Japan and Philippines in the last patch so only the conquer whole Japan should be bugged when going from 1.23 to 1.24. The straits were also bugged in Philippines

You should have it if you started as Byzantium. You did not swap to Byzantium from an Ottoman start, did you?

i can look at achievements in the tab but Bassilius isn't there, started as byzantium, never played them before, started at the start date, no idea what's wrong

That's why I always check the tab before starting an achievement run .

Hrm, you're obviously not running a custom nation right? You still see Non-Custom nation achievements right ? (World Conquest, One Faith, Mare Nostrum, most of them, actually...)

If that's true, then you should have the "start date" portion of the requirement. Only other thing I could think of is if, before starting the game, you clicked other countries first, causing the loader to bug-out or something and think you didn't start as Byz?

What happens if you start a new game as Byzantium? Do you see the achievement then?
