- Your own claims on your own provinces no longer expires until you have cored the province.
If I understand this correctly it's amazing news. I have no idea how many times I have lost the claim because I wanted to wait out the war exhaustion to save admin points, only to spend many more when the claim disappear the month after the war ends.

Well Wiz once said that historically 1444 Byzantium should have it's non capital provinces as vassals and capital at 75% autonomy so gg if he will have bad mood :D ;)

Well that was pretty much their situation

- Its no longer possible to send explorers to open seas before you have the Quest for the New World idea.
Is this a new effect given to, and only to, quest_for_the_new_world (so that Norway doesn't get it from their national ideas)? Or is it attached to may_explore = yes?

Cause primitives (which means American natives) did not have high sea war ships.
Sure. But they did have basic transports.

That would be a mistake. It would make it easier. Start them at war ;).
Maybe they should indeed do that, because the way it is going right now is pretty painful. Reminds me of this.
pulling-bandaids.jpg

Of course, setting them at war in 1444 has it's own problems. Not the least that by now it would just be another little pull on the band aid, rather than the needed rip.

Why no nationalism for primitives? It's not like the native Americans just accepted conquest.

Genocide, basically. Whether that be by outright killing them (as sometimes happened) or by just flooding them with foreigners (the colonizing nation's primary culture) until they were bred out. These are both genocide, so yeah.

It was actually really weird that when you colonize land that had natives but was uncolonized you were basically just settling down a city and wiping out the natives or relegating them to insignifigance, but when you colonize land that you took from a native nation somehow you couldn't do this and had to wait a long time.

It was doubly nonsensical since some of the native tribes ingame don't really correspond all that much to the tribes as they actually were, so we can't really say "oh the ones that have tags ingame are the larger tribes, the others are minor different tribes). Mikmaq for example starts as an OPM at the very bottom of Nova Scotia; if we were being historical it'd have all of modern Nova Scotia and the east coast of New Brunswick, albeit with very high autonomy in all provinces.

It didn't make sense to say, oh, the colonising nation can easily put their people here here and here, but not this one particular province. Now it works properly.

Are the canals (from projects) the still the same (apart from the lowered cost and bad events for the Kiel canal) or can you now deny countries that you're at war with from using them if you control the provinces that they pass through?

Oh man, keeping full regiment strength without having to rebuild your army nonstop? I'm gonna use that all the time.
You would still pay for the empty regiments. In most cases, it would be better to just rebuild them later rather than paying for skeleton regiments.

Honetly, Carracks and other heavy ships make no sense for natives to build. THe same is true of Galleys. Trade ships and Transports, on the other hand, were used quite extensibley by natives (we call them canoes). Trade and people did move through the carribian pre-1492. Maybe meso americans should be exceptions, because they are the only tech group that used boats in saltwater, and are represented in game. (omp costals wouldn't go a mile away from shore.)

For the consolidate button shift-click addition, I'd love the opposite option, like remove delete any unit with less than 50 men (adding the 50 men to anther army is nice, but meh).
