Kurper has done an absolutely wonderful job creating EU3View, an offshoot of MichaelM's Save Game/Scenario Viewer and Editor.

EU3View is a utility that will parse your savegame file and create an animated gif of the World Map. The default shows the countries, but you can show the spread of religions or state religions, the rise and fall of CoTs, and various other modes.

Notes:
* If you want to use EU3View, you can't use a savegame trimmer. The savegame trimmer nukes the history that EU3View uses to create the maps.

* Once you've used EU3View to create the gif, you can use gifsicle to optimize it and make it much smaller. I suggest using the command line:

Code:
gifsicle -b -O2 <filename>

although the gifsicle website has all sorts of info about the other nifty things gifsicle does.

For more information, questions, download information, and everything else you ever wanted to know about EU3View, go to the post in the mod forums:

PS: Kurper is so cool, he added the CoT mode just for my AAR!

An age old thread, but still the one that's found by Google -
I try to use eu3view but don't know how. All I find is GregorStocks' github page where I can download a zip package full of files of code, no .exe or similar. Executing the one likely batch file also doesn't do anything. I cannot code and there's no tutorial given for me to understand what I have to do.
I can't access the internal forum link posted above since I didn't purchase EU3 on Steam (I got it on GoG). Can anybody enlighten me?
