Georgian Survival isn't really that hard, it just can be 3 years of panic and stress, followed by 3 years of yelling at the monitor because all three hordes refuse to accept a concession of defeat/offer of tribute, and none of them demand your vassalization. The best case scenario is the Timurids turn west/south first and the GH gets tied up with Genoa, leaving you a tiny chance of repelling QK so either of the big boys tries to vassalize you with most of your lands intact. In either case, you pretty much know how the game will end up within the first 4 years max.Surviving as Georgia was actually going to be the next challenge if you picked it. Now I think I shall find a harder one....![]()
I'm for survival. I could totally see unification being something like form the HRE as Minamoto![]()
Alright, I don't think I'm going to be able to finish this week's challenge, my computer's been giving me a lot of issues recently so I need to do a factory restore to try and fix it. I'll be good for the next challenge, but I won't have the time or ability to finish this one
Also, does ATBKING mind if I post some of my input here during challenges even though I am not part of the challenge.?
Sadly, guess I don't have enough time to participate. At first I indeed had it but, because of life, well, things do not look well now.
Sorry for all the trouble.
I've attempted this many times and I've decided to just cash in my point, though it might be two points if you count the Mamluks land point in the PU i got.
Actually... this is an idea for an AAR I will attempt when I get more time![]()
The answer to both lies in the same thing - ignore Persia and focus on the Timurids between you and Anatolia, as Persia will likely be too tied up holding off both QK and Big Red to be that much of a threat to you. The only reason you have to even consider worrying is if Persia allied with the Mamluks, which will cause a few more problems during your invasions. In the mean time, take a big bite out of the Jalayirids to give yourself a Timurid direct border and start colonizing a land bridge between your homelands and the Ottoman lands, to make reinforcements from them easier to bring up when you do start your quest for a Mediterranean coastline. Also, expect to spend at least 3 wars against the Mamluks getting lands for the first big area bonus, 5-6 wars if you go for the full annexation (only 1 is necessary if you just want Judea). The Mamelukes are largely a walkover, as I have harnessed the power of the Ottomans, though I don't know if the same will apply to the Timmies. Also Persia is growing to be a large threat. Any suggestion how to handle this delicate situation?
No, I was just pointing out that the objectives were probably quite difficult for rookies. Technically, I could qualify under your definition of rookie, but it wouldn't be rightIt is just as Memento Mori Said, All you need to do is conquer Judea and Mecca. Everything else is a bonus. Going the extra mile makes it a harder challenge!!
@alexti: Are you doing the challenge or participating from the Sidelines? I dont have your name on the list but if you would like to join then that is fine. I mean if you do, its +5 points. Im also on the ups about you doing this before 1450.... thats crazy.
