I see that I do not have the proper provinces. I certianly can retry! I have 9 years left when I decided to just have some fun conquering a bunch of provinces of the timiruds, I didn't look that well at the eeastern borders to be honest.

ABTKING, too have things clear about the eastern borders, you mentioned Fars, Ajam and a "M" province (its called: Mazandaran), do you need to conquer eastwards up too these provinces?

Also I looked at the northern borders of the bonus region 2 in your challenge post. It runs straight through the province Imireti and makes it unclear what you need to conquer for that region. Do you mean the black line or white line?

Niels.p, I think the first picture is correct. We could use some clarification on the second one though, cuz bunch of people did in different ways. (I did the black line and I also took Dagestan; Emeny (I think) took parts of Georgia and even Astrakhan)

In some games, Fars isnt the CoT, Hormuz is. So I guess I contradicted that challenge..

I think it's because they're both a CoT at the beginning and usually one of them fades away.

Related question, is it unnecessary to build a CoT in Thrace then? You still get a +1 if you "only" conquer Anatolia?

I have a question: what determines the outcome of a RM'd king dying heirless (not bald, just without sons )? I was quite thrilled to find out that Anatolia is for the taking, but soon for some reason one of my relatives would get it =/ Does anybody know why did it happen, and what can I do to prevent it? Oh, and I would claim the Ottoman throne only as a last resort, as my PU's with Oman and Hejdaz would suffer -100 relations (which will cost a lot time or money to fix)

I retried succesfully!

I loaded up a savegame from 1556 and battled until the year 1472 agianst the hordes for the proper northern and eastern borders.

Although the mamluks didn't get inherited (I dont know why). I intergrated them which also gave me overextension. and that led too a declaration of war against me from hungary.

I had to destroy the Cot in Fars and had to build about 10-12 markets in provinces with spices, coffee and wine to increase the net worth in Alexandria above 800.
The war agianst Hungary prevented building a Cot in thrace because they sieged thrace. I had to send 45k troops to disperse them.

I also wanted too intergrate the Jalayrids, but thats impossible, because there is a 50 year time limit between intergration and intergrating the mamluks was more important.


There were btw some weird bugs:

The Ottomans were still at war agianst the timiruds while they didn't have adjecent borders, timiruds conceeded defeat eventually.
Inheriting the Mamluks and Jalayrids was not possible (I have a larger economy, larger army, positive prestige, positive relations, no war and +3 stability)
The Jalayrids main culture somehow is Mongol, while there provinces are Iraqi Arabic.
There is a colony of mine growing in Laristan while I'm at peace with the Timiruds.

Oh wow! Well done! Idk what's up with the bugs though. The only thing that comes to mind is that a vassal of Ottomans was at war with the Timurids and they got called to war? Also, inheriting is just random chance, it would have happened eventually.

Prestige, I think? How personal unions work is a real mystery sometimes. Like during my Yemen game, when I had Oman and Hedjaz in a PU, my king died and I see a pop-up "throne inherited" so I thought wonderful!:] But...Oman and Hedjaz are still on the map...? So I read the pop-up carefully and imagine that, I inherited OPM Khiva... They were NOT in a PU with me, we just had a royal marriage

Please may I join this? I have recently purchased the game on STEAM and I think this could be just the thing to help me skill up. I will guarantee a play through until the challenge end year regardless of my progress. I used to play HoI2 and was pretty good at this so I'm thinking I can manage at-least a +3 if I push my self.

OBJECTIVE: Conquer the main surrounding area as depicted on page 4
Bonus 1) Conquering The Mamluks Land gives you a total of +1.
Bonus 2) Doing this as Haasa Grants a bonus of +1.
Bonus 3) Conquering Anatolia and Thrace and turning it into a CoT (Center of Trade) will grant you a bonus of +1. (+2 if both)

TOTAL POSSIBLE POINTS +5

Vassals do not count however personal unions DO count (no limit on PU numbers to achieve objectives)

Obviously no cheats etc.

@Neils.p: Pic 1 is correct. Pic two you only need the white Line. I wanted you to have NOTHING to do with the golden horde. Thats for a later Challenge. Plus I would find it Cruel and Hilarious to make you fight the Timurids and GH in one bout. That seems HORRIBLE!!!

On a Side note, good job with going back to finish the good fight!!

@vitek69: Im a little wishy washy about that one. To me just owning it seems fine now because even I didnt complete it. Some did which makes me know its possible. I dont know how possible but its possible. I want you to get the points, but at the same time, I cant change the rules all the Time. So yes, unfortunately, you do need To make Thrace A CoT to get the pointa. Unless you want Half a point for just conquering it?? Naw nevermind.

@Momento Mori: Your Family name is Osmanli. Whoever the Sa'ud family is is a nation with more prestige then you. Therefore they would win the PU battle if you do not claim the throne. Prestige and Diplomatic skills are the KEy to all PU's.

@Moocats: You can join. Theres no worries at all. You got it all right except the objectives. Main Objective it conquering Mecca and Judea. Thats all you have to do. An added bonus is conquering the main Area. Yes, once you finish, post a picture here and I will give you points. Best of Luck!!

That's my end result as Yemen. I'm not sure how many points that is but i'd guess its not much :glare: . The reason I got so few is because of CASTILLE -,- . I had a 20 YEAR war with them to get 1 province in Egypt (LIBYA). I occupied their whole african territories in the first yearthe next 19 years they kept sending stacks of 20k. Trying to get it back altought it was a very fun and hard 20 year war it wasn't as one sided as it seemed their constant naval invasions had many successes kicking me out of Libya and even pushing into mainland Yemen couple times. I had 20% warscore the whole time they didn't even accept a whitepeace -,-. When they finally accepted a peace I just grabbed all I could including Spanish Morocco. but then I was out of time to really aim for more points... Oh and my infamy is a bit ridiciolous. I could've doubled the size of my army and then easily overwhelmed otto's and Timmies. Timmies were basically near collapse and Otto's had 30k army of which 15k were in Africa. Overally it was a very fun and satisfying game it was also very difficult but when you beat the Mamluks it just gets easier and easier. I can't wait for more challanges :happy:

Uhm it's 2 points I think? 1 for owning Mecca and Judea, 1 for having Egypt. Good job on beating Castille btw, that's quite an impressive achievement in itself

Oh, castille.. I kept Tripoli alive as an OMP vassal just to give me a buffer against Castille. It's really very silly when you cant build any ships to invade them. You did very well considering, but I think you got a bit distracted from the actual challenge.

As for my "King of Sweden" title, once you are a member of forums for a number of years (I think 6 or 7 cannot remember) you have the option of adding your own custom title. So, time my friend...time
