Very little has been said about multiplayer so far,
despite that it is such a big part of todays PC games..

Most new games got external programs like Xfire added to the game CD, anything decieded on what EU3 will be using?
It sure feels like that Vnet is a bit outdated, it's rather unstable and not very online friendly.

And how much will this game be focused on multiplayer? This type of game is probably one of the best game concepts ever made for multiplayer. But this will be worth nothing if the multiplayer feature is unstable.

All lies. There will not be a multiplayer mode in EU3, the better to balance the SP mode.

Only freaks like Mowers consider MP to be worthwhile.

Side note: ;)

I would be useful if players that crash could join the ongoing game without to have to make a rehost.

Isn't that possible in Civ4 MP?

Yes, it's possible in Civ4. Yes, I would die happy for dynamic joining. :D

Darn you for beating me to the obvious answer. :D

LOL :D

There a heap of interface improvements that could be made to MP.

Folks joining and leaving
AI taking over downed positions.
Host being able to move players to different countries in game
Host being able to move players to different countries during selection
More information on games in progress

Basically the Civ 4 MP model - which is very impressive indeed, even if u are a former civ cultist turned anti-sid meir adventist like me.

You know, I hated Civ2 (I "started" civ with CTP2) and was less than thrilled with Civ3, but I'm madly in love with Civ4. Also, it mods even easier than a Pdox game.

Yeah that how it should be like.

Yes, this is a must really.

Top five list of most common words used in EU2MP, that we wish not to hear in EU3.

1. Rehost
2. Latency, out of synch
3. CTD
4. Chatbug
5. Router

Solution? Xfire :)

What is there to say about multiplayer?
There is alot to say about multiplayer, and it deserves alot more attention.
But it's of course hard to discuss something that we got little or none information over, but hopefully we will know more next month when Johan promised to announce more about the game.
