I'm really excited by some of the new features, especially the dynasty system. This would bring a little bit more roleplaying into the game, and that roleplaying element was what made me fall in love with CK.

I also hope that the expansion will bring a lot of new decisions and events to the game, so that you can really feel like a ruler in the renaissance. Also some more country specific missions, events and so on, would make the player get more connected to that specific country and give the player more historical goals to achieve. I'm hoping that this expansion truly will be magnificent.

Good luck Paradox:).

Austria-Hungary isn`t even in the EUIII timeframe.

As stated above, Austria-Hungry as a political entity came about as a result of the liberal revolutions beyond the current EUIII timeframe.

However it would be nice if there was a more concrete way of uniting the two by way of a personal union. And it sounds as though the dynasty system as it relates to royal marriages might be just the tool to achieving this.

IMO, the real problem is the lack of control a player has ove other states that he is in a personal union with.

i should just post but: I hope numerals will remain, is'n it true?

What are you talking about?

Didn't stop Scandinavia, eh?

Forming a new nation (Italy, GB, Spain, Scand, Russia, etc.) is much different than combining your nation with a whole other nation. I think that point has already been discussed above though.

Two things. Austria-Hungary and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
+1
In PLC nobels were choosing monarch so another type of government (and Liberum Veto decision would be fixed but still stupid thing to do).
Also Polis-Lithuania-Ukraine Commonwealth (it was one of ideas to deal with Khmelnytsky Uprising...but it went to garbage and there was no way to fight with Sweden when they came)
The Constitution of 3rd May and other decisions for PLC/PLUC...

and A-H is
id = 71 average_year = 1850
still possible ;)

I know that. I know they called themselves Romans etc. What I have in mind is reclaiming the italian peninsula and a decision "the time has come to restore our empire", requiring a gifted emperor etc. and moving the capital to Rome, changing the colour, flag and name (no sense in remaining the Bizantine Empire, which isn't even the correct term). In short, switching focus to restoring old glory. An empire that returned from the ashes could have many curious ideas.

Well, first, the game should technically call them the Roman Empire, or Romania. The first would be confusing, the second would be incredibly confusing, for many people.

Second, they'd likely not move their capital, unless they lost much territory around Constantinople (not likely if they're conquering Italy). Constantinople is, in almost every way, a superior location to Rome.

I would like to see, however, more decisions and missions for them (and everyone else, as well) in the actual game (not mods). And named properly.

Forming a new nation (Italy, GB, Spain, Scand, Russia, etc.) is much different than combining your nation with a whole other nation. I think that point has already been discussed above though.

Forming GB isn't combining two different nations? Forming Scand isn't combining three? The point with out-of-timeline is kinda valid, though.

Like I said, I know Byz isn't the correct term. But the decision to move the capital would pretty much be made upon a whim, if not a calculated choice, of the Emperor. Rome is "closer" to the European affairs and is the seat of the Pope, so evicting him and taking his place has a powerful symbolic value. Good powerbase to subjugate the usurpers of the HRE too. And how about repaying those pesky crusaders for their help in years past? :p Speaking from a historical point of view this is mostly fantasy. Speaking from a gaming perspective - a major reward for a major feat and very satisfying. Kinda like forming Scandinavia, only harder and probably less historical.

....

Let's say Archduke Ferdinand 2 is ruling Bohemia, Austria and Hungary.(Austria has cores on Bohemia but it doesn't have any in Hungary.)

Ferdinand 2 wants to unite the HRE so that it can defend itself against France. Unfortunately Hungary is rebelious and his advanced armies are small.
(Small manpower.)

Ferdinand 2 gets an idea. He decides to give Hungary special rights. What does he receive? A lot of thankfull Hungarians and his entire country backing him up. (Some manpower, a few divisions and cores on Hungary.)

So basically a special Liberum Veto. A thing that didn't had to happen but could.

Already modeled. Establish March-decision and other provincial decisions, plus decentralizing.

But it would be easier with one decision. And...

Ah, Fine! I give up! I don't understand why you people don't want as many nations in the game as possible.

Well, I guess if this sort of "fictional" or "out of timeline" nations started popping up left right and centre it could ruin the immersion. Part of the reason I suggested reforging the RE is that it could only be done by the player actively seeking to do it. There is no way in hell it could pop up during a regular game as the AI.

Because they cause lag

Whaaa? EU3 runs like lightning for me, and when a nation forms, it usually means there are actually LESS countries in play (for example when forming Scand you need to more or less annex two countries).

I'd like something along the lines of one of the EU2 patches released post-CK, where all sorts of CK duchies were added into EU2 for better conversion..
