Considering the mod not only changes the way a lot of those numbers are calculated, but also changes the start date such that your record is completed before the base game starts, it doesn't seem like a mod should be eligible here.

I second this opinion and believe that records achieved using D&T are ineligible. Though my knowledge of the mod is insignificant, I do know that the mod changes the gameplay extensively, and so hopefully my prejudice is understood.

I wasn't trying to get a record. I loaded up a Bavaria campaign and started doing really well, (because I got very good missions which gave me about 3 or 4 subjugation CBs), and by the time I was done with one of my wars, I had accumulated +100 Prestige. I'm not itching for a record, I just thought it might be eligible.

Well, only nation you can't inherit is magdeburg, unless you manage to turn them into kingdom. But you can do it, by annexing, releasing un-vassalizing, and claiming throne.

But you need to inherit all of them since there's no backup plan. What's the probability of that?

Very high. If you are going to pu all of those countries, you are going to rack up A LOT of prestige, which you can use to expand your sphere. With a sphere as the big as the one you will have, your diplomatic rating will be so high you might as well have a 100% chance to inherit, barring something that would end the pu such as negative relations.

Not really, I've inherited with somewhat high infamy, and it was due to my massive sphere of influence. You'll have to avoid going over the infamy limit to avoid being killed before you get a chance to inherit, but as far as inheritance goes all you really need is above 0 relations, some prestige, and a big sphere of influence.

And if you're going for a record you can just save and reload until you inherit everything you need.

I would still want some reasonable chance of success, perhaps 70-80% at least. Otherwise, the record would be more a fluke

Indeed you do get the cores on inheritance, but it's still a lot of countries that you have to pu/inherit. My last PU was in the late 1440s so it was just waiting for my ruler to die and hoping that determined the date. No question it can be done faster if luckier, but I never missed a PU chance.

Indeed. After becoming emperor, I annex/released them to make them into a kingdom. The other method, I imagine, would be to vassalize and hope for the incorporate mission.

With the above method it's basically 100%(99.999999%...), just a matter of your king dying.

How in hell did you manage to do that in little under 15 years???

Malacca lacks knowledge of West Java and as far as I understood it, you require one full colony to get "natural spread" to the two westermost provinces. Furthermore, I consider it quite a feat to have gained the necessary number of colonists by 1414. I have personally never gained gov-tech 4 (for 'Colonial Venture') as a Malay country before 1412, but I see you have some loans, so maybe you turbo-financed an earlier tech-progression? Would be interesting to know how my record was beaten, considering I didn't think you could scale it back more than perhaps 2 years (without playing Majipahit). One learns new things everyday.
