I also posted this on the EU3 forum. I received the free copy of EU3 complete (TY again Paradox!) and have been happily playing for many, many hours. I thought that it was only fair to constructively point out some areas that could be improved. I'm sure the devs no longer work on EU3 but maybe someone has a mod that fixes these issues? This list will be good to consider while working on EU4 though:
- Automatically cancel "Hunt Rebels" when an army boards a ship, and the ship should automatically cancel "Patrol" when an army boards it;
- Have a function for the Army or Naval unit to remember the last Hunt Rebel/Patrol route, and have a button to "Resume Hunt Rebels/Patrol";
- Would be nice to have some kind of indication of the army or navy strength so that you can compare the power ratings before actually attacking;
- Show the second digit on inflation (maybe on other things as well), i.e. 0.xx;
- The Economy screen should show what the yearly amount of money gained or lost is. I constantly have to use a calculator to ensure I have enough funds to reduce inflation without having to automatically take out a loan;
- Centres of Trade (in the top right-hand pull-down) should indicate a +/-#, where # is the number of merchants gained or lost recently. Maybe this info could stay up for a year? Also don't remove zero merchants right away so you can see where you lost it (again, this info stays up for a year?);
- When moving an army unit from one land to another that are separated by water, you can use your transports. You click on the army unit and click on the destination and the game automatically moves them to the ships but does not continue the move to the adjacent destination. Need to have the unit continue the move without having to reselect it and move it; and
- Would be nice to have arrows that you could click on to cycle through all your owned provinces. One must close and open each separately.
I hope this helps to make a great game even greater, or at least fix things for the new EU4 (which I fully intend on purchasing).
Other ideas:
- be able to load armies into docked boats instead of having to move the boats out and then move the troops there (Plasma Doctor);
- More trade goods.. just for the variety of it, no need to be tied with boni and stuff. Silver, gems, pearls, incense, fruit, rice, silk, luxury wood. Just to spice up our trade portfolio (Spyroware1)
