is there a cheat to lower your reputation at all??

And what might that be on American keyboards?

for me ALT 0167 on the number pad works to bring up the console.

and can any one tell me if there is a quick way to increase reputation so I dont become the worlds punching bag. It seems to keep my allies I have to go to war with them and they love going to war. if i win these wars, I keep getting my butt kicked.

To get § Press Alt + 2 1 (on num pad) (laptops alt + fn + 0167 )

fow off = Fog Of War turned off.
discover (Province ID) = Province type discovered.

Example:

discover 20 = Province 20 discovered

revolt (Province ID) = Revolt created.

Example:

revolt 20 = Revolt in province 20

What did you type exactly?
All of these should work with the invest command:
land_tech
naval_tech
production_tech
trade_tech
government_tech

Note that the amount invested will be modified by the slider setting; if the slider is set to invest nothing then the command will have little or no effect.

I think the other "techs" are just strings extracted from the .exe; they aren't actual cheats.

the other techs are just in the exe...but aren't in the "Europa Universalis III\common\technologies" folder, so those are less likely to be used...

That's what I mean. I don't think whoever posted those actually tested them; they just extracted strings from the .exe that looked like they might work. Only the first five are actual techs.

Wow, I missed this earlier. Indeed it does work like that. So all you need to do is enter the command many times to remove all FoW.

So I am using the cheats and after a while decided to declare war on someone. However, EVERY country on the map, I am a vassal to. Is this normal for using cheats? Anyway around it?

What cheats did you use? That's certainly not normal.

You can edit your save; it's in the form of "badboy=" ... (search for your country in the savefile; easiest way is to search for capital=236 if your capital is 236/London; change the number as appropriate, obviously)

Or you could mod the game. Edit static_modifiers.txt and change the BB reduction from rulers to 100x the current rate (or higher), which would effectively wipe out BB in a month or two (this would reduce the BB for every nation in the game, though).

I am also having issues with my version of EU3 for Mac OSX. I can not seem to even get the console open to use it. I have tried every combo to open the console listed in this thread (having had read it) and none of them work. Help would be nice...
