I also just got a land tech advisor, because when I annexed Shawnee (only because of a boundary dispute;I used promote cultural unity to get an extra uncore province) and re-released it, I got 7 army tradition. So I got a level 2 land tech advisor, and now it takes 10 years less than earlier to get to level 1.
Personally, I ended up going with production tech advisers to boost my income, but invested all in land tech. Perhaps not the best strategy, but I still got to 4 (And those oh-so-vital forts) by the time the Euros showed up.
in one game i wan't discovered until 1570 ... well i had time to unite the 5 tribes by then ,and still lost despite my westernization ...
Well, I think that's because that makes it worse? If you get just barely enough time to core the Shawnee and Creek territories to get rid of revolt and move sliders for insta-Westernization, then it's in your best interest for them to discover you as early as possible so the tech-difference isn't too immense, right? In the sense that I can still throw my 20k men with good generals at their 10k stack and have it be a decent fight, then seceed 1 province and pay off the difference from my stockpile-cash ASAP to Westernize and catch up the difference in tech.
I'm in constant war with UK, France, Granada and Portugal. Idiots keep declaring on me, sending their puny armies of 20k, reduced to 12 by attrition and then jumped by my 16k to obliteration after first bounce. But they keep maintaining the war against me and it angers my citizens.
I am allied with Castille who snatched their colonies around me, but still, it's kind of irritating. I have to start colonizing to raise my land force limit to 30-40 or so, my Holland game thought me they should **** off around that.
I was smart enough to go full Free Trade so I can have a bunch of monopolies now. Got the bank, got a minter, I'm at 200 a year now, would be 300 if not that stupid war. That's 15 colonies. :-|

Does anyone have the achivement where you have to kill a 6-6-6 leader with an leaderless army? Seems kinda impossible to get
I think the 6-6-6 one is bugged. Beat Napoleon with a huge Austrian stack but didn't get it.

oh god i just got into a little detour with Ming trying to convert their provinces. In my "i cant declare war so go crazy when i can" i took three provinces from tibet, one from dai vet and colonized two from the hordes. The sad thing about the whole thing was that two of the starting provinces converted more than 10 years after the others :/

Trying my hand at the No Trail of Tears. I have fully westernized, in all fields...now it is 1630. I just have to survive for another 171 years. 8D
Same here pretty much, 1660, unconquerable for AI, building everything everywhere getting accustomed to the building system more than ever before. Free Trade was a huge win, I have monopolies in 8 biggest CoTs and taking Enlightment cultural decision allowed me to outpace the tech in all areas except for Production (working on that now). Cotton starts costing more and more which makes me tougher as years pass.

I love the achievements idea, but the lag it creates resulted in my turning it off until a patch works out the kinks.
You can load a game, turn PC on and it will qualify your achievements. It checks the save constantly, that's why it lags you.
I just got the wooden wall as England (man, i had to play a fucking game till 1730 - how boring!), and am about to get the african power one.
I really have no patience to play with Cherokee yet. If you go above 10 provinces, you are pretty much fucked. Do you guys vassalize Shawnee and Cherokee till you are able to annex them?

I vassalized them first, then annexed them around 1500 when I had 7/6/7 monarch and magistrates+cash prepped for forts.
Are you running Songhai for Africa? Isn't it exactly the same as Cherokee regarding incapable ruler?
Also, what tech do I need to have morale 7 in naval and land? Is that a max tech (60) thing?
