The reason HOI seems easier is because it's more like one of the later campaigns in EU2, where the AI doesn't build enough units, and you have some kind of unit that can destroy the morale of the enemy before even going into combat.
That having been said, I think HOI has a lot of potential hidden within it. Right now I hold HOI and EU2 about even, especially after a HOI MP spree yesterday for about 8 hours... I was Germany, and boy did the sparks fly against a human USSR (you just have to jump up and down when you manage to encircle and destroy that 20 division army...

). I think the MP fun factor for HOI is a lot greater than for EU2, but that's just my opinion. The ability to have so many things you can do in combat is just too fun.

It does become a bit hard to manage (that CCB just becomes a bother in MP), and you can't exactly plan out your offensives hour by hour...
That having been said, the back and forth offensives, followed by the lull where no one does anything, trying to gain a strategic advantage, then you see the forces on both sides moving, trying to counter each other...
