EU2 under wine/linux: resolution problem

Hi,

Just manage to start EU2 with latest ubuntu wine package: everything seems to work fine - except the ***** resolution, which sticks to 800x600 although it is configured to 1024x768. Running in windowed / desktop mode doesn't change anything. Anyone got a similar problem in here ?

The screen resolution is afaik saved in the settings.cfg file in your EU2 directory. You should check the entries of that file. Perhaps the Config application doesn't work properly under wine.

Mine looks like this:

Works !

You rock: it works fine !
(wine set the file write-protected, so it couldn't be changed , i did it manually and it runs fine)
Seems that it is possible to run at even higher resolutions...

Yeah I also wondered whether you can change these values to whatever you want but I could never test it because my 19-inch TFT screen only supports resolutions up to 1280x1024

Can I ask what your cpu/ram is for running EU under wine? I have a pentium 1 / 1ghz with 256mb on a laptop running pclinuxos. but I don't think that will work... also, I can't get my iso of the eu2 cd to mount under linux. How did you install it?
