(apologies for logging in by accident on my sons userid, leading to moving this stuf in the 2nd post)

After over a year of searching, I finally managed to find a shop (mail order) which could sell me eu2.

The version is 2?.04.

a) The back of the box promised me a scenario editor, but I cannt find it. Please dont tell me I need to download an update - the machine I installed it on has no internet access. Can anyone help please?

b) Playing England, I suffered several crashes but made it till 1488. I gave France a fair beating, and cover more of France than France itself. Brittany is a small ally.
Countless times I have tried to vasalize Brittany. It is my ally, I have RM, relation=198+. Out of 10+ attempts, just 1 succeeded - after which my vassalization attempt made them break their vassalization. How could I have vassalized them again? Troops within their borders?

c) In Sep 1488, France made a RM with them. Somehow this brought them into my alliance (no question to me, relation=-200).
Is this a bug or a feature? I know that under Charles VIII Brittany was annexed historically, and it looks like a scripted event. Could I have stopped them? Is this solved in a patch?

d) Hoping that with other install options I would have the scenario editor, I uninstalled. After uninstalling, the entire game was still on my harddisk. I deleted the eu2 directory by hand. The install program assumed it was still there and offered to repairt or remove. Remove had the same result as the first time, and repair didnt add any files.
I had to clean my entire hard drive and registry by hand to be able to reinstall.
Is this a known problem?

Welcome to the wonderfull world of EU2

a) If you got the dutch version you've probably got the 1.04 version, which came without scenarioeditor. Later patches introduced it, download 1.07 and it is accessable. But it is reported to be buggy, some say it is better to do all the editing in notepad.

b) Vassalization can be difficult. Size (economic) and relative monarch dip ability play a major roll as well as luck. After you have vassalized them wait a long time before annexing, usually after more then 30 years they are willing to accept annexation.

c)France indeed vassalized Brittany by event, and this will be a hard blow to your attempts. But there is nothing you can do about it.

D) there is full uninstall directions in the support forum.

You can still update your game by Downloading the patch to the computer you do have internet access on. Then copy it on to floppy disks and install it on the other computer.

thx guys for your respons. I realize now I should have posted this question in the support forum.

With the floppy drive refusing to function on the machine I do have internet access on, the update is impossible for me. I moved the installation to my internet machine, but will spare you the problems I encounter here. It is a pity that Ubi soft, the distributor here, is trying to make it so difficult for its customers and promises things on the box which it must have known that they arent true.
