Yikes.

I have two systems, a Celeron 600/Voodoo3 and an Athlon 1.6/Geoforce 2, Directx 8.1 on both of them.

EU2 hangs on both of them in the exact same way, I can start the game, I hear the music at one point I abruptly lose the mouse and the game hangs with the music still looping in the background.

On the Athlon I can geta as far as playing for about 40 seconds before this happens.

Istvan.

LATEST UPDATE:

I've cleaned up my system tray, the game does not hang anymore at the point it used to.

I've had a similar problem (also posted in the support forum):

I click on the desktop icon, and get the pointer/hourglass, but the program doesn't check the CD (it doesn't give me an error message if I have the wrong CD in the drive, and the CD read light never goes on) or load off the hard disk (to the extent that the HD light never goes on). After 10 seconds, the hourglass goes away and nothing happens. After a minute, I manually end the program from the close program (ctrl-alt-del) menu.

I have tried with music set on and off, and uninstalling and re-installing, and I have updated Directx and my video card drivers. Also, EU1 works great.

My system:
Pentium II 450 Mhz
128 M RAM
Windows 98
Voodoo2 3dfx V2-1000

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Varian

I had lots of things running, one of them being a CD burning sofware from NERO. THis was supposed to be running on my the other CD drive though.

Istvan.

make sure your temp directory is empty (C:\WINDOWS\TEMP)
Run Scandisk&Defrag (or Norton Disk Doctor&Speed disk)

also, use the EU Settings to disable music, lower resolution to 640x480 and try to play again.

In the support section, in response to a similar problem, Nabil (SF representative) suggested to disable the sound card, to see if it was causing the problem.

Also, try to lower your desktop resolution to 640x480 256 colors to see if it works; if it does, increase it again and then change your EU Setting to 800x600...

There's a patch coming soon, within a week or two at most, so don't despair!
