EU2 doenst recognize 1.08 patch.

If you have WinXP you don't need winZip to unzip the files, and if you want Winzip go to Tucows and Download it for free.

That aside you need to select "yes to all" for the overwriting.

Are you sure you did not run it directly from the internet?

First look at the sticky thread "Self help guide" Look at the 4th post and follow the manual uninstall directions.

Then Download the patch from the link I suppied, then do a fresh install from CD install to the default drive and directory, then run the patch.

Does not matter really where you DL the patch to.

How on earth did you get a 1.07 readme file if your CD version is 1.00 and the patch is 1.08 and you say it did not install anyway. And deleting registry files does not effect what is in the start menu in anyway.

Right-Click on the 1.07 readme file, select properties from the popup memu.
See where the path to that file sis and then look there to see if you have another install of EU2 already.

Did you clean out the install shield stuff as well?

What publisher version do you have, thier logo will be on the CD?

That is the distributer no the publisher.

Add Strategy First since that is the version he has.

When you go to install the game, it asks you where you want to install the game to.
In the box is already a "suggested" location something like C:/Program Files/Strategy First/EU2/ this is call "default" because if you do not change it that is where the game will be installed to.

Uninstall the game. do everything like last timeclean the regisrty ...

Now DO NOT install the game.

When you deleted the game and tried to install the patch, What happens?
That is the question I have been asking and you still have not answered.

Okay "installed to" means after installation.

Are you telling me that after you run the patch program there is a new copy of EU2 in C:\My Documents\eu2_eng_v108. I don't think so I think that is where you dowloaded and saved the patch to. Which is not what was asked.

Okay one more time let's go through this.
1. remove all traces of EU2 from your system following the manual uninstall instructions.
2. Search for eu2.exe
3. If you find any, STOP and report the path to it here.
4. If you do not find any then run the patch installer.
5. Run the search for eu2.exe again, come back here and tell me the path if any that the search found.
