Yes, I do know. But that said, drives in Europe do not tend to be nearly as long, at least for several days in succession. You tend to hit International borders more often.

OK, peace deal is signed. Access to Toronto is agreed subject to date being fixed and not conflicting with wife's exams / graduation ceremony. So this means as long as its before mid May and avoids first week of July I'll be there.

Nobody would want to drive 5 days across Canada if they had a choice! It's bad enough doing the 500 miles from Aberdeen to London in one day - repeating it for 5 days solid would drive me bonkers!

Well, while I'm sure your nation has a fine highway system, I'm not all that keen on spending my vacation experiencing it, so I suppose it'll be another plane ride if we decide to go out west. In any case, to answer your original question, I'd probably be vacationing longer than just the Con period, although where that would take place is decidedly unclear.

Yeah well Shawng1 you know, European countries are not at war right now. So even if we do hit borders (sometimes willingly wanting to cross it in order to visit the foreigners) they usualy let us in. Withou firing at us or anything.


And thanks to the Schengen Treaty, their are no custom controls within the EU. Well of course for Norgesvenn it's a bit different, as norvegians never joined the EU.... But nobody really cares about that. As long as we have the Swedish chicks with us!

Fear not...still working on this but there's a limited amount that can be done this early. My thought is to leave it for another couple weeks and then make the decision on which weekend it will be as of early September.

I really hate to say it Sharur, but I'm thinking at the moment that we're looking at May 30, 31, June 1. Delaying it to the end of June will make it vastly more expensive for our European friends. Maybe you could be "sick" for a few days of school?

2. Any of those three will work for me, I go to school in the NW so I don't have finals til halfway or later in june, and I can't think of any other major time/date conflicts.

3. I'm pretty flexible, whatever.

4. Round table, definately. That way it can be a bit lighter, and can lead to interesting tangents.

Will do Discount Research

I've been away for almost two weeks and look what I've missed!
This sounds like an incredible opportunity and another amazing brainchild created by Mr T and LD.
I'm thinking out loud here and will need Mr T's/LD approval of a few items I had in mind.
I could use some of my connections downtown to acquire some discount prices on car rentals,hotel rooms and even restaurants if this would help for the 2003 AAR CON.
I assume that by being responsible Canadian hosts we will allow some time to the prisoners,er I mean quests to enjoy Toronto outside the AAR venue ......hehe...what I actually was thinking that I could get discounts on the expensive ride to the top of the CN Tower,and (crosses fingers) maybe even passes. Having some refreshments at the top of the tallest tower in the world (there is an exquisite restaurant there) and looking down at all the tiny people would be a sweet paralell to looking down on our respective EU campaign maps,no? This would at the same time check off a "must see" stop on any backpckAARrs list to Canada. I also know of the best (read: best quality combined with lowest cost) Pizza shops,Chinese food restaurants,Submarine sandwich joints etc. Not paying full price for the 2003 AAR quests would be my mission.
This is all a formative mist in my brain right now, and as I mentioned Mr T and LD would have to be consulted first....however I'd do my best to turn this into a cloud that the quests (Canadian or Tourists) could comfortanbly walk on.
