So, first of all I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so mods, feel free to move it to the appropriate place if I messed up.

So, yesterday I bought a EU IV subscription to unlock all the DLC. I had been intending to continue a very careful set up CK II game, but when I tried to start EU IV it would crash pretty early on in the start-up process. The thing is that I had tried to load the same game about a month ago as a test and it worked fine, but I decided to wait for Leviathan to be out before I subscribed and started playing, which seems to have been a mistake.

I did have some mods active on that save, but nothing that affected the map. Two were actually minor bug fixes (for reformed pagan god names and the "introduce heir" event chain), one was for coats of arms and one more had a minor effect on character portraits. So nothing that should have any effect on what was being transferred over to EU IV. And as I mentioned, in the last version it worked fine.

Sadly, because I've activated my DLCs using the subscription system I can't just roll back to the last version of the game that worked. That was the first thing I tried but if I do that then I only have access to the DLCs that I've already bought, not the ones unlocked by sub.

Has anyone else had this problem? Who could I contact to help solve this, if at all possible?

the majahapit patch is a hot mess and i dare say the CKII converter is the least of their problems right now. post a bug report.

For me when leviathan came out it broke my game because of mods. Even though none were active according to the launcher, a few were still activated somehow. I just deleted my Eu4 folder in documents to be sure, then it worked fine. (this folder stays even after reinstalling the game)

Since exported games are treated as mods this isn't something I can do if I want to play my exported game. EU IV loads just fine without the exported game, but that doesn't really help me in this case. :))
