Although he did the game injustice by giving it a five ranking, it really is a great game, I think we are being a bit too hard on him. He sounds lost in the review, I don't think he ran the tutorial, he sounds the way I felt when first playing EUII without an instruction manual. I mean if you play the game for like a few hours on the first day, it is a bit overwhelming, and there is a lot of stuff that you don't understand, I remember when I first started playing, the game felt so much different then, he did not play it long enough to appreciate the beauty of it. HOwever one thing is interesting that a lot of us overlook.
When he started talking about loading troops in the boats, and how they have to be on an ocean square. I stared laughing because when I first started playing EUII i felt so frustrated by the same thing. I was like what is this stupid fucking game I can't even load up troops in a boat. I understand now though why it was done that way instead of the way he expected it.
I just think he should have played the game until the end before he reviewed it, or at least play it for more than a few hours. I thought that's how it was usually done though, I thought reviewers had to beat the game and they would tell you learning curve and how long it takes to beat etc. Or are things changing now a days with so many games coming out?
