My wife wonders how a game can hold my interest for so many hours...she just does not understand. She will sometimes play a car racing game but her interest goes after about 15 mins. I always say I could be out drinking with my mates which one would you prefer and she calms down.

bah, not Lifetime, the chanel from hell. My wife gets real mad when I tell her it's TV for women who like women. 1 time I saw a Lifetime weekend for women who liked guys with some more male interesting movies, so I joked that must mean Lifetime is normally for women who like women.

I would pay good money to get my wife into comp games.

I can't beat it, but I can come close. I got my 72 year old father playing CIV II, and nows he's playing quite a bit of EU. Those are the only two games I've had a success with though.

Mine has gradually learned to accept it...

She used to get all over me when I would play on the 'damn computer', but now she is mostly content with it... Although I did get her hooked on Sim City 3000 for about a week.. She couldn't stop playing the damn game and the roles reversed for a little while.

My girlfriend doesn't play any games against me anymore. She used to play Imperialism II and would get angry every time I took one of her provinces or colonies. This would usually lead to some short periods of silence between us. Well after losing in Imperialism she has stayed away from computer games.

Ah, but in the EU-series there are so many countries and so much room that you can spend the entire game just helping eachothers out in a permanent alliance :)

Really enjoyed this thread, thanx for bringing it up to surface :D

...and for the records. I only managed to get my gf interested in diablo, starcraft and Unreal Tournament sometimes. Lucky me we got 2 comps and ability to put up some LAN games  :D

As for EU her remarks is "How the heck can you play a game for so long without being tired of it!?" (but in swedish of course  )

I dont bother to answer that question, cause if you ask such a question, you would never understand the answer... :D ;)

Hmmm...UD and others, you are lucky as. I've tried to get *anyone* to play the computer games I like. My dad, sister, friends...you name it, I've tried it... :(

I wish my dad would play EU with me. We could do it LAN...:(

Sigh...
